Seems like Amazon's RoP is getting annihilated by the fans. The trailer is getting soundly ratioed across the world.
Meanwhile: HBO's released their awesome House of the Dragon trailer a mere 2 hours after Amazon dropped their RoP trailer. Some say this may be Ryan Condal subtly trolling Jennifer Salke for her rejection of his Conan pitch.

This series had so much potential but it all left with Tom Shippey leaving, I think.

The situation partially reminds me of the Conan comic situation, where they couldn’t use the DeCamp stories so they did their own thing, then had to adjust when they could actually use them. Of course Roy had more talent in this department. They went all in on the Halbrand story since they couldn’t use Annatar and now supposedly they can. They could’ve done both, one didn’t need to supersede the other. Now they have to find a way out of it and from first appearances, don’t look like they’re doing a good job of it. For crying out loud, hire ANOTHER actor as Annatar and leave Charlie as Mordor Sauron.

The problems may have started soon after the death of Christopher Tolkien, but by the time Tolkien scholar Tom Shippey was fired for repeatedly telling Amazon they were 'polluting the lore' all intent to maintain authenticity had been abandoned by the Rings of Power team.

RIP Bernard Hill. THEODEN | How Bernard Hill Made Him a LegendDid not hear about this! Sad, but he lived a great life it sounds like. Seemed very cool on all the LotR behind the scenes stuff on the DVD's.

I'm not foaming at the mouth for it like House of the Dragon, but I am curious, I have to admit. I'm with you regarding another guise of Sauron making rings and how they are going to actually pull that off. But I really hope we see more Elendil. In LotR Aragon says his name like a viking invokes Odin in battle. Time to see what he can do.

Hopefully they’ll set him up against Pharazon in a major way

This should probably go in the Movies thread, but I think it would be of interest to LotR fans. Apparently in Viggo Mortensen's new western, THE DEAD DON'T HURT, there is a fantasy sequence with a knight and he wields Anduril in it. I guess it's a blink and you'll miss it thing. He called Jackson and the LotR production company and received permission to do it.
Very few westerns coming to theaters these days, so I might have to check this out.

He also did one where he says he’s game for the new film, especially if they do it down in New Zealand again. He better make sure he’s in shape!

They could easily de-age him like Harrison Ford in that (hopefully) last Indiana Jones movie. 2 hours vs 15 minutes, though might be too expensive.

In the previous video I recommended they NOT do that! The tech barely works in small chunks, it's not ready for whole films. I mean he looks basically the same, just some hair dye or wigs and he could probably pull it off…without too many close-ups.

I missed that video but I'll check it out. Indy looked good to me but yeah might be too big of an ask.
But yeah, maybe with his facial hair back, a jet black bottle of Just For Men, a little bit of a tan, and makeup he could pull it off.
