I'm going to be sad when I run out of these William King Ragnar Blackmane novels. In Wolfblade he's joining the 40k equivalent of the Varangian Guard on Holy Terra (Earth). Very cool stuff, getting to experience Terra through Ragnar's eyes. Back in the day quite a few fans had wanted more Space Wolf yarns from William King, Jason, from what I can discover.
A bit more on Secret Level here: Yeah I just started listening to the fifth book in the Ragnar Blackmane series, SONS OF FENRIS by Lee Lightner (not William King), not sure what happened with King but so far Lightner is doing a pretty good job keeping the characterization of Ragnar and his Wolfblade mates. According to the 40k wiki Lee Lightner is a pen name of two life-long friends who live in Baltimore, PA. Not sure who they are but so far they are doing a decent job. Having the same audio book narrator helps. Regarding the Secret Level episode, that's one hell of a advertisement for the new Space Marine 2 game! I'm sure that will help with some sales. The game is already getting great reviews, though. Interesting, thanks, Terry.

I get that they are trying to broaden their audience, but this is not the way to do it. It's their lore to change, but it's a bad idea to retcon this much in an effort to pander to certain groups.
I'm about 3/4's of the way through the fifth Ragnar Blackmane novel, SONS OF FENRIS. I'm enjoying it a good bit. Learning a bit about the Dark Angels Chapter and the Fallen. This one has multiple point of view characters which is something that William King did not do except only in a few circumstances in the earlier books. Hopefully they get the sixth and final book in the series, WOLF'S HONOUR recorded soon. Although, Ragnar is nearing Mary Stu territory, I guess that's just part of his trajectory.
The best thing going for these guys is their lore, hopefully they don't fuck it up. I'd never sit down and play a board game, but they have definitely created an interesting universe here.

Imho they are essentially changing and rebranding their product for a different audience. A smaller audience that cannot support a company of GW's size.
Recently an online PvP game was released called Concord. It cost 100 million to develop over eight years and was heavily influenced by the DEI people. Upon release it had an all time high of 697 consecutive players online and latest I heard the company shut it down after two weeks online.
These companies are better off making the main game for the traditional mainstream audience then releasing DEI expansions or mod packs for those who want that kind of content imho.
But the real problem is that people who are into pushing DEI do not know, cannot identify with, or are actively against what most people actually want, and therefore they cannot and/or will not produce it.
What will you listen to once you've finished the Space Wolf yarns?

The same thing happened with mainstream comics. They catered to the DEI folks who don't have any actual interest in buying comics, so all that they accomplished was losing their long-time regular readers. There are a few non-Ragnar Spacewolves audio books I'll probably check out. Lukas the Trickster, Blood of Asaheim, even a few about Russ himself. I'll probably queue those up. It would be interesting to read a novel surrounding one of the Dreadnaughts, though, too. They transcend humanity but at what cost?

Well like you said in your previous post 'it's their lore to change.'
It's GW's prerogative to change their stuff and the customer's to decide if they want to buy it or not. Let the chips fall where they may.
Have there been any novels written about Dreadnaughts?

With Henry's show appearing to be stalled, perhaps the future of Warhammer 40K beyond the board game and Black Library will be in video games? Space Marine 2 is getting crazy good reviews and looks great. Given the SECRET LEVEL episode of Warhammer 40K is going to feature the same cast, Games Workshop must have a lot of confidence in the Ultra Marines.

Impressive game by the look of it. Doubt if my rig would handle it graphically, unfortunately. Some say the single player campaign is a bit short, but doubtless there will be several expansions forthcoming.

At 60 dollars it's quite pricey at the moment Jason, unless you can find a deal of some kind, but you would have the advantage of participating while the game has plenty of buzz surrounding it (and plenty of players if you like online gaming).
I'd heard of Asmongold on the circuit but not seen any of his vids. The Saber CEO said he wanted to make an old school game with a simple loop that players could get immersed in rather than some of the more complex modern stuff. The success of SM 2 shows that there's still a massive audience for old school gaming of that sort.
Bit of an update here where you can read his comment in full:

Cool, thanks, VonK. He even gave a shout out to Black Myth: Wukong which received some good reviews, too.
Here's a 40K fanfilm that was just released, heard some good things about it. The CGI looks good.

Here's another you might like, a playlist of shorter clips which forms a continuous narrative/mini movie where a Salamander and a Sister of Battle take on the Necrons. The sort of thing that Secret Level might make perhaps?
Edit - use the link inside the square brackets to get the full playlist.
