How many illustrations are in the book? Fifteen or so. Thank you ^, I wasn't impressed with Dixon's "Black Citadel", but the inclusion of illustrations actually peaks my interest. I really enjoyed the Conan (Mercenary, Tranicos, Flame Knife, Sorcerer) series with art by Estaban Maroto, and I wish illustrations were more common in books.

"Caravan of the Damned" is much better then "Black Citadel". But I cannot guaranty that you'll like it...I read your post on the "Black Citadel" thread. A lot of this book feels like a lead up, but I enjoyed the lead up and the finally is satisfying. With "Black Citadel", I thought most of the book was okay and the last fourth of the book was a drag to read. I'd give "Black Citadel" a 5.5 and "Caravan of the Damned" a solid 8.
