Turns out the Conan story was drawn in color. Not surprised it didn't reproduce well in b&w on newsprint...

Looking forward to Richard Pace's work in the next issue. At least his art is done the old fashioned way.

The digital element to his work was very clear in many panels. I don't mind as long as it looks beautiful. But in a black and white Conan magazine it is always better do do it the old fashioned way. I think Conan fans want Savage Sword to look and feel like the old Savage Sword.

Looked a little muddled, they will probably get the contrasts worked out in subsequent issues, sharper delineation between the black and whites, just do the interior in black & white, no drawing in colour, ditch the digital makeover, but probably a hard thing to do unless you locked the illustrators in some warehouse with just paper, pens, inks and pencils.
Having said that, it still felt like an old SSOC, but agree with some of the above points.

I have bought some Omnibuses off Ebay and Amazon over the years, but picking up Titan SSOC#1 this past weekend was the first time I have been in comic store for probably almost 40 years, that definitely added to the nostalgia...... I thought the issue was pretty solid, I liked the art (IMO, better than some of the latter original run issues, I never cared for Gary Kwapisz and to a lesser degree Mike Docherty). As far as the Dinosaur, maybe the presentation could have toned down a bit, the reveal panel made me think of the T-Rex from Toy Story...... Overall pretty cool to have SSOC back, I hope it generates enough sales to continue for another long run.
Was it ever announced how often it will be released? Monthly?

Any word on a 2nd printing? I haven't heard any, but looking online.. The digital version seems to be selling well, it's in top 100 in 2 subcategories as of now. A online comic store in Quebec BD Cosmos has all issue variants sold out. The Douglas Klauba variant is still available though. Forbidden Planet online has the main cover variant but not the others so I am assuming they either sold out or did not stock it. I like to believe it is selling well but not enough for a 2nd printing. I hope Titan does it though it will give them a opportunity to fix the printing errors and do it right this time.

Haven't seen any news of a 2nd printing but Comicron are reporting the 1st is getting re-orders.

A prerequisite for this magazine should be that the illustrator has to start and finish his work on paper.
