Who wants to talk about it?
There are a couple of old women in it.

Who wants to talk about it? There are a couple of old women in it. Ha! Yes there were. A bit of a surprise, that was. I wonder if that's something the showrunners made up or if it's something Martin had planned for that character. I thought it was a good episode overall, though I'm not sure what to think of the Dorne story line with the Sand Snakes.

Well, I'm just about caught up on this. Except for a few shaky stretches in Seasons 2 and 5, this has been pretty impressive. I wonder how they're going to manage to develop the plot with only a few spoilers from Martin to guide them, though. And seriously, how sad is it that the adapters have managed to outpace the author, especially when he's been working on this story for twenty years.

When I don't have any new storyline to chew on, I occupy myself wondering about the astrophysics of GRRM's world. I hypothesize that it revolves around a blue-white giant star that is so hot that the habitable zone is way far out. Hence, a very long year.

I'm trying to catch up. I watched Season One years ago after reading the books then stopped. I banked them on Bluray, though, so now with them being ahead of the books, it's time to watch them. I'm about halfway through Season Two and it's pretty good. I figure, might as well experience the story myself before it's spoiled.

Solid kick off to the season. A lot of catching up with everyone.
But I really think the show needs to hit the gas at some point and start moving a whole lot quicker.

I think that's what David & DB have in mind, they'll be doing whatever they know of Winds of Winter (what they haven't already done) and I suppose some portion of Dream of Spring (along with some leftover Crow material) in 23 episodes rather than 30.

It's funny, I'm watching Season Two and Tywin Lannister is at Harrenhal. I'm thinking to myself, "Was he there in the books?"
Then I just shrug my shoulders and keep watching as it doesn't really matter anymore.

They do seem to be consolidating the widely scattered stories now. At the end of the last season Tyrion joined Daeniris (though she's away now.) Theon, Sansa and Brienne are now together, so they won't be jumping around to three different storylines. Jamie and Cersei are back together. I think we'll see more of this in coming weeks.

Yeah I heard they eliminated and conflated plots.
One thing's for sure, this is a damn good looking show. Put these guys on a Kull or Conan based series stat.

This is somewhat divisive. In some ways you kinda have too. Especially since the later books were bloated (important shit happened but it was drowned out in a LOT of extraenous rubbish.)

I don't mind a little trimming of the plots or some minor changes, but some of the changes they made in Season 5 were just baffling to me. I won't give anything away, but I hope this season is a lot better.

I barely remember any of the last book because I just wanted to get through it. I remember a whole lot of dull stuff with Cersei and Ser Kevan.

Finished Season Two. They left out a lot of cool character beats, but I liked it over all. The Battle for Blackwater was nowhere near as good as in the book. No chain. Plus Tyrion's wound was tame.
I'm going to start watching Season 3 later tonight.

Yeah, most of what I remember from the last book were the tense and exciting chapters with Theon/Reek, Ramsey and what was happening at Winterfell.
