I think REH fans would find a lot of interest in the BIRTHRIGHT series by writer Joshua Williamson & artist Andrei Bressan.
In a modern world a young boy goes missing ... & a year later he returns, but he's now a sorcerous sword-wielding adult warrior! More info & previews at www.comixology.com/Birthright/comics-series/26106

John Arcudi wrote several stories back in the day for the SAVAGE SWORD OF CONAN. For the last few years he's been working with Mike Mignola on his HELLBOY spin-off long running series B.P.R.D., a military vs the supernatural action drama. I recommended it!
But I'm actually suggesting checking out Arcudi's recent series RUMBLE with artist James Harren & colorist Dave (CONAN) Stewart, a wonderfully weird mash-up of urban fantasy with sword & sorcery! Depending on what your tastes are, I might also recommend... Fatale by Ed Bruabaker and Sean Phillips from Image Comics-think Lovecraft meets a 1950s noir film This is good stuff, and there is a subplot where the main character drives to what appears to be Cross Plains where he meets a pulp fiction writer, who is supposed to be a mashup of Lovecraft and Howard. Given that this is horror/noir story, I would not anticipate things to work out well for secondary characters, but Brubaker said he wrote it as a tribute.

A great review of Simonson's Ragnarok series: www.blackgate.com/2016/05/29/after-the-twilight-walt-simonsons-ragnarok/I need to pick this up. In the art gallery section of Issue 11, Simonson talks about reusing an approach to a page he took when he worked on a Breckinridge Elkins story for a fanzine over 40 years ago. Never heard of that, but another reason to pick up this book.
