My local game store is advertising that they are selling the core rulebook. For those who have played it, is it good enough to warrant me plunking down a pile of cash? (I already have several other Conan RPGs, and I can't decide if the 2d20 system is cool enough to surpass my others.)
I have carefully read and playtested the new 2d20 rules, with a few rpg friends.
The only notable thing about the awful 2d20 rules is that they are so very shoddy very fiddly very negative very tedious very unappealing, very iritating, ugly, awful rules for players and gm s who like to waste their time arguing a lot.
The awful shoddy very fiddly 2d20 mess are the exact opposite of what good quality rpg rules should be.
the 'Threat Point mechanic' is the most stupid pointless timewasting negative tedious crapp.
its a clear strong example of so many other pathetic shoddy parts which fill the awful sloppy 2d20 rules.
The very tedious 2d20 rules are probably the worst rpg rules i have ever tried.
[ i have read and played a lot of different rules over the years ]
The awful 2d20 rules are completely unappealing and unattractive, no fast fun, a huge turn-off.
the very shoddy 2d20 system is a nightmare to GM.
everything is so unnecessarily over complicated
with lots of irritating abstract game and dice mechanics
which all combine to slow the gameplay down to a Snail's crawl of frustration and boredom.
It is so very bad awful that i now call it the '2d20 SNAIL system'.
The very shoddy, tedious, awful 2d20 rules
are the most deliberately vastly overcomplicated, snail slow, very annoying, too frustrating, quite pathetic mess.
They are the opposite of what a good quality fast flowing fun to play rpg system should be.
the new '2D20 system' is staggeringly awful, massively overcomplicated, very very disappointing, a complete waste of time,
[ i have a lot of very experienced rpg friends & contacts: they all disliked the 2d20 slop ]

>> I would never have sold an important REH/Conan licence to very shoddy tedious awful rules like 2d20.
the '2d20 SNAIL rules system'
is not anywhere near worthy of the name Conan, or REHoward,
not even worthy of the name Spongebob.
[ we had lots of very detailed criticisms of 2d20 on the old murdered forum ]
>> save your money to buy some good new adventure scenarios?
