On an unnamed island in the pacific the buttock-clenching horror...continues... -- i often forget how good and well designed all your 'runic script', sigils & dark logos are, too. Very cool art. Thanks to Zarono.

Having infiltrated the Cult of the Peacock I discreetly snapped this photo of a page from one of their arcane tomes, is this the formula that leads to the attainment of Koth and "lyffe beyond mortal span even two hundred and fiftie yeares"? We shall never know for certain as my ruse was uncovered when the batteries fell out of my camera during the ritual. I was beaten severely about the head and shoulders by enraged cultists but I managed to escape with the digital film card clenched in my teeth.

Zarono, how about about another Pacific island of horror? gutenberg.net.au/ebooks06/0602031.txtVery short, with great imagery. You really need to read some Merritt, Z. HPL, CAS, REH, CL Moore and Karl Edward Wagner can't all be wrong. If you can read Hodgson, you can read Merritt.

Curse you Deuce, how will I ever finish The Night Land with these distractions! Cool little story! I wonder if the creature was any influence on the "cloakers" and "vargouilles" in D&D?

It's actually one of his most obscure. Basically everything from Merritt is on Gutenberg (even fragments). BTW, did you know that Lovecraftian author, Charles Stross, created the githyanki, slaadi and others found in the Fiend Folio?

No that's pretty cool though, I need to read more Stross, I've only read a couple of his stories.

"Tomecraft" not sure if I originated the term though, I'm sure it's been out there on the interwebs somewhere for years. Some nice books on that site.
