Amazingly, I am now the lucky recipient of an early copy of A Gathering of Ravens thanks to the author himself, Scott Oden. It has become my sacred duty and great pleasure to spread the word of this novel as I work my way through it, all other books put aside for now. Watch this space for further posts. Now, I have some reading to do..,

Read report; About 50 pages in, great read thus far. Grimnir is like Conan with a hangover and a toothache-an absolute bad-ass bastard!

"This was a monumental find. Immediately I phoned a colleague in America, a Classics professor at Harrison College named V. Darlage, who helped coordinate the dissemination of scans of the initial pages via fax to various prominent historians and Classicists around the globe. What followed were endless rounds of authentication and appraisal." >>[[ but it only took a week to do all that ?? ]] == >>>> i googled = harrison college v darlage = "Vincent Darlage is an accounting teacher for Harrison College in Columbus, Indiana. He is also an author for Mongoose Publishing's Conan the Roleplaying game" = >> hmmm... me smells a detailed hoax, by Scott? [ do i have to bother asking Vincent? ] but entertaining stuff.

Just wait, in a later post I plan to relate Burke and Louinet's journey into the High Atlas Mountains to catalog the last of the Orcadii ruins . . .

On the last 25-30 pages of this book, saving it for tonight. Ahead, the Battle of Clontarf, and hopefully Grimnir's bloody vengeance! Any fan of Howard or Wagner will absolutely love this novel. More to come soon..,

My reading of A Gathering of Ravens is complete. A spoiler-free review of sorts to follow. But for now, know this; Read. This. Book.

Hi Darkman, thanks for your good review. Very good to read your great enjoyment and enthusiasm for the new book. It was a treat and an honor to be allowed to read the early uncorrected proof. Mr Oden is a great author and a hard core REH fan, and it shows in this novel. Can't wait for the official release June 2017, I will be pre-ordering my copy early in the new year. Anyone interested in some awesome S&S written by one of today's best writers should look it up!

And I thank you for the review, and for the greatest off-the-cuff PR quote a writer could ask for: "like Conan with a hangover and a toothache"
