Does anyone know whether or not the Foundation's books will be printed in paperback or made available via POD? (The postage to GB just destroys any hope I have of seeing these).

Thanks for the reply. I'm still hoping for POD for the story collections. I love the Del Reys, but want more. "Swords from the North" contains some of my favourite stories. If the Foundation puts this up on Lulu or Createspace, they'll get my money. (Come to think of it, I'd buy two copies! Seriously).

I'd also like to see The Foundation put out some ebooks. Especially The Letters of REH. Can you imagine having them searchable? Plus some of the volumes are out of print.

I am looking forward to the two volume collection of the "Funny Westerns". I have "Heroes of Bear Creek", but I would prefer a more permanent hardback collection. Breckinridge Elkins is a marvelous character. Buckner Jeopardy Grimes and Pike Bearfield, Esq. are excellent too. I am thrilled the non-sword and sorcery REH characters are receiving their due.

I just got Fists of Iron Vols. 1-4 in the mail a few days ago. I am a big fan of Howard's boxing yarns, especially Sailor Steve Costigan. REH's "Iron Men" may be his finest story. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I love this set!

The latest e-mail from the Foundation mentioned that the cover of The Adventures of Breckinridge Elkins will be revealed in the next Newsletter.

Tex steps out from behind his REH bookcases, and produces THIS... Saddle up, pards, and ride the range with one of Robert E. Howard's greatest characters, Breckinridge Elkins. This is the novel version of A GENT FROM BEAR CREEK, first published in 1937 in London, and the rarest and most valuable Howard book ever published. It was reprinted in facsimile form by Donald M. Grant in the sixties, but every reprinting of it since then has been edited. This version restores the original Jenkins text. The original dust jacket is reproduced on this edition. There are only a handful of original dust jackets in existence, most of them in libraries in England. By Bill Cavalier Jan 2, 2010 "This is a great piece of Robert E. Howard history to hold in my hands, and it doesn't matter that it's a reproduction. (And a nicely done repro, for sure, WITH dj!) It's like owning the holy grail of Howardian Collecting at 1/100th of the going price. Thanks to Dennis McHaney for getting this done!" Tex (who HAS to remember these things)

Would I be correct in assuming that the Foundation, should it produce e-book versions, would be more diligent in regard to errata and updates than companies such as Del Rey? (So far, my impression is that the Foundation might take more of a personal touch, whereas Del Rey probably treated the books as just one of many properties to publish and forget.)

Actually, the Del Rey books were impeccably edited, with painstakingly detailed information about every change made from the stories' original sources. And this praise is coming from an editor known as "The Velociraptor," for the way I would go after typos!

Actually, the Del Rey books were impeccably edited, with painstakingly detailed information about every change made from the stories' original sources. And this praise is coming from an editor known as "The Velociraptor," for the way I would go after typos! Oh, I certainly understand and appreciate that, but as you can see from my recent thread about errata and DRM in the Del Rey editions (http://swordsofreh.proboards.com/thread/309/wandering-star-del-rey-errata), I'm hoping to find a collection that won't be treated as just print-and-forget. If we're going to use the technology of electronic publication, then we should make sure that even the tiniest of errors gets corrected in a timely manner. And if, as you suggest, these texts are already being prepared by editors with the highest of standards, then whatever oversights may exist should be few and far between -- and therefore very easy to correct and update. So, I guess my original question still stands: Will e-book publications by the Foundation be kept up to date, errata-wise?
