Tried watching the last episode of She Hulk twice and fell asleep on both occasions. Too much fermented mare's milk, hope I did not miss much. I liked the previous episode with Daredevil.

It at least showed they have a sense of humor about themselves and they realize they’ve created a bunch of cliches they should probably work at avoiding in the future. Probably went a bit too meta but it’s She Hulk.

I finally got around to watching Thor: Love & Thunder last night. I did enjoy some of it, but man, that movie was really out there. I struggled to take it seriously during the first half, as it seemed more like a goofball comedy than an action superhero movie. I was also rolling my eyes when everyone was leaping fifty feet into the air during every battle scene, with massive CGI bursts of power being being thrown around at random. And the scene where Thor instilled the children with some of his power was completely silly. Having read the comic story that this movie was loosely based on, I wish the writers had used more elements of that.

When Kat Dennings is the dramatic core of your film, you might need to rebalance it a bit. Trim about 5 minutes of funny stuff and it'd probably feel a little more level.

I was disappointed that they used a song as good as November rain for that cringe scene.

Chris Hemsworth recently said he doesn't want to work with any more mad genius directors, but added he'd be back for more Thor if they are going to do something significant with the character.
The MCU has all but made a joke out of Thor - one of the best Kirby/Lee characters. Some of the storylines Lee, Kirby and Buscema ran with him back in the 60's were awesome. They could probably have worked up to a billion dollar Thor movie a year for almost a decade running some of that classic material with Hemsworth. The MCU burned their bridges on that though by killing Odin, the warriors three, and trashing the Asgardians. Thor was always the noble straight guy in the comics but the MCU after Thor 2 slowly turned him into a comedy sidekick.
Thor in Infinity War was peak MCU Thor imho.

If it’s going to be a Thor vs. Hercules, there has to be a light touch from time to time, but there also has to be dramatic weight to it.

Yeah, I could definitely do without some of those earlier scenes, such as the one with Thor doing the Van Damme splits between those two ridiculous chicken aliens on the motorcycle machines. That was far sillier than anything in She-Hulk, which was meant to be funny.

Victoria Alonso, the DESTROYER of MARVEL, FIRED to save the MCU There's more chatter coming out that she definitely was one of the big pushers behind the whole diversity stuff and attacking Florida. That alone should've caused her removal because A) it was based on a false premise and B) it cost the company untold billions based on the false premise. They have to hope GotG3 revives their fortunes a bit.

Was I suppose to hate Quantumania? Just watched it last weekend and enjoyed it. Plenty of valid criticisms and in general things are not as tight storytelling wise as they once were. But I liked what I was watching. I think Marvel has learned they were spreading themselves WAY too thin and needed to concentrate on the stories again. When you’ve lost Chris Hemsworth (mentally if not contractually) when you still need at least one more picture out of him, refocus.

I kind of feel like Thor: Love & Thunder wasted the Gorr character a bit. In the original comic book he was a superbly rounded, deep villain. In the film......he's just kind of meh.

I think Kevin is going to have to seriously have that refocus I was taking about a few posts up. The Marvels director seemingly wanted to make a movie to spite the angry fanboys and make it goofy since Marvel movies haven’t been too funny. Talk about misreading the room…
