Glad to see Tim on Hollywood's radar!
With the success of the Revenant, and the new Frontier series, and the general popularity of post-apoclyptic stuff (which always did riff on survivalist and frontier themes) I'd hope this has a good chance of getting the green light.

Many people don't realize that Tim created the Tusken (actually human) Jedi, Sharad Hett: starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sharad_HettTim created Sharad in 1998. At the time, Lucasfilms had a virtual ban on Tusken protagonists. Truman broke that barrier, more or less. He created the character sketch, but didn't illustrate the DHC series where Sharad first appeared. Here's Tim in his own words: The Tuskens were always my favorite Star Wars culture and so when I got a chance to write the book they were one of the first subjects I wanted to base a story on. When I informed my editor that I wanted to do so, he told me that Lucasfilm probably wouldn't go for it. The company had warned Dark Horse and other licensors that doing extended stories about Tatooine's desert people was off limits. I convinced him to let me at least have a go at throwing them a written pitch. Reluctantly, he agreed. Desert cultures have always fascinated me-- the Apache and other southwestern American tribes, African Tuaregs, Arabian Bedouins, etc. I pulled out my research, worked up a plot, and handed it over. A week later I got an email from my editor: "Congratulations, Tim! You've broken the Tusken barrier!" I printed it out and had to taped to the wall by my desk for years.

Truman just announced that IDW has proposed "retrospective books" about his career:
Looks like a couple of books, centering on my "non-comics market" stuff that some comic fans aren't aware of -- one would be of the 100's of illustrations I've done for book covers, interior illustrations, magazines, role playing games and such, the other would center on my extensive backlist of rock 'n' roll art assignments for the Grateful Dead and others.

Truman has been doing work for the Grateful Dead for 25+yrs. He's buds with several of the surviving members.

Wish they'd attempt a Grim Jack film.
