Great to see more of your stuff of the forum here Erik!
There is plenty to admire here - really fine detailed art, and I also like the authentic weapons and equipment on the Viking, though the cat snoozing on the bookshelf steals the show for me.
How's the Skulls and Shackles going?
PS: Does your pic of Beuriel mean that your GM has returned to that campaign?

Thanks, guys! Much appreciated!
Haha yeah, I decided to put that cat in at the last minute before I started with the markers. Glad I did!
It's going well! We're about to start the third chapter (of six), so we're becoming experienced pirates with rising infamy now. Having a lot of fun with it! Amalrik is 7th level now.
Our GM that runs that drow campaign is planning a return to it at some point, perhaps when we're done with Skull & Shackles, unless our GM for that campaign needs a break for a bit. He's been planning and giving us a couple updates lately, though, so it's coming sooner or later!

The third rendition of my Halloween witch: Love the way her familiar gets it's own broom. Just right for those tricky scouting missions.

Hope you don't mind me re-posting this again Erik. Like I said back then - one of my favorites of yours from the days of the old forum - Conan descending into the darkness with sword drawn, suspicious, wary and ready to smite:

No, I don't mind at all! Thanks for sharing this again, Von K! I'm glad you like it that much Well it was six years ago that I last re-posted it and even that was four years after you first drew it for the old forum.
It's kind of a unique take on Conan's build and physiognomy and expression which I wonder if even you could replicate.

Wow, ten years already! I agree, that would be challenging to replicate the style I used way back then - I haven't used watercolor pencils in several years too. I do recall that I wanted his physique to be a little more realistic by not resembling a modern-day body builder who takes all sorts of supplements, though.

That kind of approach to rendering Conan's build is a great one imho - where he looks more realistic/naturalistic, kinda like a proto Celtic heavyweight boxer. I guess Zarono's rendition of Clint Walker as Conan comes from a similar school of thought. I seem to remember you developed some excellent high fidelity results with those watercolors!

I agree! While my favorite depiction of Conan is by Buscema, I do realize that that kind of body type doesn't make a whole lot of sense when you think about it. I think REH would go for the heavyweight boxer that you mentioned, and that's pretty evident from his stories anyway. Thanks! I've been getting some results that are a little similar to that with the Copic markers, I think, and I've mostly been using those lately. Here's one I just finished yesterday that you may have seen already:
