More great timeline stuff from you there Keith. And that's still a cool avatar which Bux chose for you. It certainly is! I can't see myself ever wanting to change it. And thanks for the compliment on the timeline stuff.

These notes come from a document I have been compiling to try and create a timeline for various Robert E Howard characters. I've used a lot of information from this thread (the initial outline was based on finarvyn's original post in this thread), as well as further research from the stories, history and other threads, discussions on the characters and their historical settings. I could be completely wrong on some things, so would love it if more knowledgeable people could point errors and add some more characters and dates.
Thurian Age 100, 000 BC
Am-ra the Ta-an
Kull of Atlantis
Hyborian Age 50, 000 BC
Conan of Cimmeria
Great Migration 40, 000 BC – 10, 000 BC (approx.)
The Lives of James Allison (past lives only, James himself would live in REH’s present day)
Spear and Fang
Notes: Is this Pre-Thurian or Post? REH had ideas about Cro-Magnons being descendants of the Atlanteans and following the Hyborian Age, and in reality Cro-Magnon’s are supposed to have existed 40, 000 years ago, which would be somewhere during the later Hyborian Age. Dale Rippke believes this story to be post Conan and post Valley of the Worm, which fits with REH’s ideas about the migration of the races
Ancient World 3100 BC – 539 BC
Pyrrhas the Argive
Notes: House of Arabu/The Witch from Hell’s Kitchen - Set in Mesopotamia, during a time when Nippur was still flourishing and able to have ‘robed nobles’
Eithriall the Gaul
Age of the Roman Empire 735 BC – 476 AD
Cororuc the Celt 100 BC (approx.)
Notes: Cororuc thinks about how the Celts first came to Britain ‘over 500 years ago’, with the dating for that generally being the 6th Century BC (600 BC)
Bran Mak Morn 300 AD (approx.)
Dark Ages 476 AD – 1000 AD
Cormac Mac Art 490 BC (approx.)
Middle Ages 1001 AD – 1485 AD
Turlough Dubh O'Brien 1014 AD
Diego de Guzman 1021 AD
John Norwald 1146 AD
Notes: The Lion of Tiberius - Ends with the death of Imad al-Din Zengi which occurred in 1146 – the story starts years before that
The Mountain Lion 1163 AD – 1167 AD
Notes: Gates of Empire- During Amalric’s invasion of Egypt
Cormac Fitzgeoffrey (probably the Third Crusade; so 1189-1192)
Godric de Villehard 1205 AD
Notes: Red Blades of Black Cathay - Genghis Kahn is heading off on his conquest of greater Cathay (China) at the end of the story, which he started in 1205 AD in real life. Mention is also made of Boniface of Montferrat who was also around that time, dying in 1207 AD himself, though he sends Godric out on a quest for the land of Prestor John years before that.
Cahal Ruadh O'Donnel (1243 AD)
Notes: The Sowers of Thunder - Cahal is told that ‘nearly half a century ago the adventurer Cormac FitzGeoffrey raided Shahazar among the mountains and bore away untold plunder’
Renaissance 1300 AD – 1650 AD
Donald MacDeesa (1389 AD to 1403 AD)
Notes: Lord of Samarcand/The Lame Man - Donald MacDeesa is seeking vengeance against Bayazid the Sultan of the Turks, known by men as the Thunderer – Bayazid/Bayezid I was the sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1389 AD – 1402 AD). This story spans years, pretty much all of Bayazid’s reign, ending with his death in 1403 AD
De Montour of Normandy (possibly 1475 AD? Following treaty of Picquigny?)
Notes: In the Forest of Villefère - De Montour mentions that the English have signed a treaty and that the Duke of Burgundy should know of it. Dukes of Burgundy were active during the period of 1364 AD – 1555 AD, and quite a few treaties were signed. The Treaty of Picquigny was a peace treaty negotiated on 29 August 1475 between the Kingdom of England and the Kingdom of France. It followed from an invasion of France by Edward IV of England in alliance with Burgundy and Brittany. It left Louis XI of France free to deal with the threat posed by Charles the Bold, Duke of Burgundy.
Agnes de la Fere, AKA ‘Dark Agnes’ (1518 AD – 1528 AD)
Notes: Blades for France - the real historical person Françoise de Foix appears in this story, and is mentioned as the mistress of the king. She was that from 1518 to 1528, which helps pin down a time period for the Dark Agnes stories
Sonya of Rogatino, AKA ‘Red Sonya’ & Gottfried von Kalmbach (1529 AD)
Notes: Shadow of the Vulture - Set during the Siege of Vienna in 1529. Sonya is between 20 and 30 years old at the Siege of Vienna
Solomon Kane (I've seen timelines of 1550 AD – 1625 AD)
Ivan Sablianka 1595 AD
Golden Age of Piracy 1650 AD – 1730 AD
Black Vulmea 1620 AD – 1625 AD
Black Vulmea 1665 AD
Helen Taveral 1672 AD (Date taken from an essay I was reading online)
American Wild West 1850 AD – 1900 AD
Breckinridge Elkins (approx. 1880)
Buckner Jeopardy Grimes
Pike Bearfield
Grizzly Elkins
Frances Xavier Gordon, AKA 'El Borak' (1885-1920)
Steve Allison, the Sonora Kid (1885-1920)
20th Century
The Faring Town Saga (1920’s/1930’s? or 1800’s? reference to the Barbary Coast and Galley’s being long out of use but still used by Barbary Pirates)
Stephen Costigan
Esau Cairn
