I always thought the way he lost his limbs was stupid. After we see he has a mechanical hand in the original trilogy I always imagined that was a side effect of the dark side, that it ate away at you, which is why the emperor also looked like he did.
I feel like the more Star Wars we get, the worse it becomes since they begin to fill in the gaps that were previously left to our imagination. And in my opinion, a great movie should have unexplained things which are mentioned but never explained so the viewer can let his imagination fill in the blanks.

Some people have commented that the English NOOO version sounds like a moaning whale or ox, but I think the mask would muffle it.
In any case, after all these years, I can't watch that scene without thinking of this one.

The midichlorians explanation was directly damaging. The force should have remained mysterious and intangible.
The thing that pissed me off the most though, was how Yoda suddenly had the ability to become a parkour ninja acrobat when he wanted to fight. That was mind-numbingly stupid. Why THE HELL would he be walking around with a rickety limp, using a cane otherwise if he had the ability to become a luchadore? It would have been so much cooler if he would have handled the fight with Dooku without hardly moving at all- just standing their wielding the power of the force in an appropriate minimal physicality.
Talk about shitting the bed.

That looked good, Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, the sand swept world of Tatooine with its underworld.....very Star Wars. I think if you asked most people to name the quintessential Star Wars planet, they would say Tatooine. From some of the shots, I think they included Mos Eisley in the trailer.

Greatest of respects to the memory of David Prowse, the actor in the Darth Vader costume that gave the imposing look to what is probably the greatest big screen villain of all time.
James Earl Jones nailed the voice for Vader.

The series stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master, and also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. “Obi-Wan Kenobi” is directed by Deborah Chow and executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and Joby Harold.

That lightsaber in the ring looks familiar, as does the mushroom hat. Are those the seven whatchamacallit inquisitors (or whatever) who were in the recent CGI series with the Aladdin lookalike?

I have to admit, Kenobi looks pretty cool.
Too bad Disney has been dead to me for years.

Caught the first episode last night and loved it. I really like the little girl playing Leia, as she's perfect for the role of the younger character with her wit and rebellious nature.

I couldn't even get through both episodes of Obi-Wan. The opening scene of the child Jedi's training (essentially a commercial for Disney World's Galaxy Edge theme park?) was cringe worthy, the "actor" playing the Jedi in hiding (Nari) is community theater/fan-boy/LARP level, child Leia is completely annoying, and main antagonist (Reva) is portrayed as an "angry black woman who can't control her emotions". I'm sure some Disney Corp. committee thought Reva was supposed to be a progressive role/character?, but the poor acting and writing has her come across as a racial stereotype. In general Obi-Wan has the same tone/direction/treatment as The Last Jedi, which for me doesn't work. The inept and indifferent way these established properties are being handled (both Star Wars and Marvel), as well as the extreme drop in quality has finally prompted me to cancel my Disney+ subscription
Disney is just churning out tripe and slapping the Star Wars (and/or Marvel) label on it, but until people stop buying, it will continue.

I enjoyed the first two episodes, will try to do episode 3 tonight. But I do agree the Reva character is not particularly well done. It's not even stereotypical, it'd be just as silly coming out of any character's mouth. Its source is probably close to how you imagined it.
Some people's reactions to her however are completely out of line (not yours LW), what is with the racist name calling online over a character you don't like? The actor/actress is not the character, if you feel it absolutely necessary to reach out to them, try being civil. I don't get this bothering actors over roles thing, got too much else going on in my life for that.

I don't get this bothering actors over roles thing, got too much else going on in my life for that. Only seen episode 1, and completely agree here. Reva is kind of strange... I'm mostly waiting for her to murder one of her fellow inquisitors, which will be cool/amusing. MAYBE we'll find out some interesting backstory explaining why she's still furious about Obi-Wan over 10+ years since... whatever, but if not, then yeah, kinda over the top. There's definitely some raw racism getting thrown at actress. Save yourself some heartache and stay away from conversation about the character on twitter, b/c it's all extreme opinions devolving into everyone accusing the character/actress/disney itself/anyone who doesn't love the character of being racist, or the inverse of people saying vile things about any of the aforementioned groups and defending it as "valid criticism". Sheesh. Imagine being enough of an adult to think at the same time both "Eh, that character could be executed better" and "Actress doesn't need to be called sub-human b/c it's not perfect." Anyway, so far I like it. (Again, only 1 episode in so far). Giant space shark steaks! Cool music! Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru! A hidden cache of lighstabers! Haven't watched the animated source material but like the Inquisitors throwing their weight around like mob heavies trying to find runaway Jedi. Just gotta finish up Moon Knight before I dive back into this one...
