Even Lucas disowned the holiday special. That should tell you all you need to know.
I wasn't impressed by last jedi but overall I think the franchise is superior to most others (Empire strikes back is up there for one of the best movies PERIOD)

TLJ action figures marked down 90% just four months after film release: One month. It was released Dec 15. Which is even worse. I haven't seen TLJ yet. If the toys are already tanking there may be no reason to?

In their world $600 million in the US and $1.3 billion worldwide is a massive disappointment! That said there are a number of legitimate criticisms of some of the choices the filmmakers made. And yeah, the toys aren't exactly flying off the shelves. We were in Toy R Us the other day (one of the ones that's not closing) and they were already upping the discounts on the Lego sets (nowhere near the 90% for the action figures though)
It should be out on home video (these days DVD/Blu/On Demand) by the end of March (during Lent of course for me, when I give up digital media acquisition) and on Netflix in July.

Although I really liked Rogue One, The Force Awakens was disappointing - I felt they borrowed a few too many elements from Ep IV.... - yet another planet killer
- yet another villain in black get-up
- yet another cute droid with crucial info stored in its databanks
Any of that sound familiar? I kept waiting for the droid to spit out a hologram, "Help us, Rey -- you're our only hope." The bits I've heard and read about The Last Jedi don't sound too appealing. I have enjoyed getting to see more of the Star Wars universe, and sometimes something is better than nothing. Just wishing a bit more thought was given to making the new movies in the same vein, but with original plots that meld with the originals. I don't know John, maybe I'm asking too much.

I was just thinking about the way they keep storing important data in droids. Apparently they don't have WantaCry viruses & etc in the Star Wars universe. Geeze. Or hackers.

Funny you should mention the hologram...

I don't actually mind Rey as a character, though there are better ideas that could be done

If the toys are already tanking there may be no reason to? Yeah, I knew/know when TLJ came out. I was confusing/transposing that with the September prerelease/whatever of the toys. Disney allowed some presales at that time to generate "buzz". Didn't work. Anyway, I obviously typed in the wrong date for the TLJ release.

Rumor has it something for Solo may show up during the game Sunday night. As of 2 days ago, nothing was planned. We'll see if works better than the John Carter one.
The film is scheduled for a Memorial Day weekend release and no one has seen so much as an official photo (there have been a bunch of generic behind the scenes ones), let alone a trailer. Additional rumors have the film STILL in reshoots. Hopefully they're done with Emilia Clarke since she'll be due back on the Game of Thrones set any day now.
Edit-Looks like a commercial will show up in the game and the trailer will show up on Good Morning America on Monday.
