I'll have more word on this. Shadowridge Press is an up n' coming small press that is doing some awesome work. "Narrative" is highly underappreciated, IMO.
Coming October 31st-
We have been working late into the dark, dark nights, in rooms black with only the glow from faint candlelight and computer monitors, feverishly slaving to unleash our labor of love, THE NARRATIVE OF ARTHUR GORDON PYM by a certain Mr. Edgar Allan Poe. His only published novel, its equal parts seafaring adventure, thriller, fantasy, and horror, and is the inspiration for countless works that followed. There is nothing quite like it in literature in our humble opinion. The new massive Shadowridge Press tome weighs in at 270-ish pages, a large 7 x 10 trim size, and features over 70 exquisitely macabre black & white illustrations and devices. Along with top notch graphic design it all makes this edition THE edition to own. We think it's rather swell if we do say so ourselves.
Watch for it this Halloween, available from Amazon...and Shadowridge Press!

IMO Clark Ashton Smith's writing reminds me more of Poe than Lovecrraft's stuff...just a thought there

Read The Thousand and Second Tale of Sheherezade recently. A strange tale where Poe intermingles bizarre, naturally occurring biology and physics with his final, and fatal, story as told by the now famous narrator.
I recently acquired a couple older editions of his works, yellowed, aged, which have inspired me to again read his works which, I admit reluctantly, I haven't perused for years.
One can certainly see his later influence on HPL with such opening lines as:
'For the most wild yet most homely narrative which I am about to pen, I neither expect nor solicit belief.'
Killer stuff.
