Thanks for the new podcast Jason!
There are definitely some of the most iconic F+GM scenes in Swords Against Wizardry, and it's my belief that the Mouser's attempt at casting a spell in Quarmal may have been the inspiration for thieves getting the % chance to 'read scrolls' ability in D+D.

Ha! That's probably true regarding the thief class in D&D. I just sent out for a copy of 'Barbarians' edited by Robert Adams so I can take a look at "Scylla's Daughter," the novella that Leiber expanded into Book 5: The Swords of Lankhmar, to see if it was better off being left alone. The original digest was a bit pricey for my taste, so I went with a paperback instead, very easy choice to make.

Well, looks like Scylla's Daughter is really just the first portion on The Swords of Lankhmar. Just the adventure on the grain ship and meeting the German Aquanaut riding the two-headed sea serpent. I'll start writing the next episode this week.

Hard to believe DC passed on the Jeff Jones cover for Sword and Sorcery #1 as shown below. The Kaluta cover they went with is bad-ass, though.

Is it strange that maybe the closest we've had to a Fahfrd/Grey Mouser film is...Midnight Cowboy?
