The Cinematographic Hybrids in Conan movies...
Thulsa Doom is apparently immortal and is depicted as a sorcerer with a skeletal skull or as an albino when he assumes the illusory appearance of a living man.
As a powerful necromancer, Thulsa Doom is the main enemy of Kull king barbarian dominating the main realm of the time (Valusia).
Thulsa Doom continues her exactions as Conan's enemy in The Savage Sword of Conan ...
Thulsa Doom later became an enemy of the hero Cormac Mac Airt, another character of Howard ...
And in the cinema, there is a character of the same name who is the main enemy of Conan in the film released in 1982 Conan the Barbarian.
His name is Thulsa Doom, but he is a strongly based character on Thoth-Amon ..!
Indeed, this villain in the film Conan the Barbarian, Thulsa Doom, is essentially the same character as Thoth-Amon of Howard's stories.
Played by James Earl Jones, Thulsa Doom does not resemble his literary alter ego, which I described earlier.
Although the name of Thulsa Doom is taken from another character of Howard, the character of the film relies much more on Thoth-Amon and has little similarity with the original character of Thulsa Doom.
So this film version of Thulsa Doom is closer to Thoth-Amon servant of the god Serpent Set, one of Conan's classic enemies, as such, he seems to be an ordinary man in the film but has the power to transform himself into A huge snake.
This Thulsa Doom / Thoth-Amon hybrid seems to have been re-imagined as a cult leader.
The villain of the film Conan the Barbarian, Thulsa Doom, is essentially the same character as Thoth-Amon of Howard's stories.
Thoth-Amon (also spelled Thoth-amon) is a fictional character created by Robert E. Howard.
He is an evil wizard in The Phoenix on the Sword, the first of the Conan the Cimmerian stories.
He is often used as a Conan's arch enemy in derivatives works but never in any way of howard's original stories.
Confusingly, a character with the name Thoth-Amon appears in the film Conan the Destroyer.
However, the name is the only link to the original character.
This Thoth-Amon does not appear, in terms of character, clothing or setting, to be Stygian / Egyptian nor does his actions resemble anything in Howard's stories.
Howard's Thoth-Amon. The monster Conan faces in the Thoth-Amon scenes (an ape-like creature in a red cloak) does resemble the character.
This Thak / Thoth-Amon hybrid seems to have been re-imagined as a wizard evil.
