Very cool. I have an old magazine about the making of Raiders, and it features some of Steranko's art that helped develop Indy's look. I still think Gordon is way more bad-ass than Indy, but they could have been drinking pals for sure...

I'm surprised that there wasn't a FXG thread, either. He's one of Howard's greatest creations. (My "top three" has to be Solomon Kane, Conan, and El Borak.)

I actually just pulled this book out since I'm going to read Desert Adventures next and maybe I'll try to do a full history of El Borak.

Does anybody else remember a Gene Day pinup of El Borak in Savage Sword of Conan? I would swear there was one in the early '80s. It may have been in the same issue that had the "Dennis Dorgan" pinup.

I've spent the last 3 months recovering from surgery and mostly offline (hence not having been around here for a while) and one of the books I read during my convalescence was the Del Rey collection of El Borak and other Desert Adventures. I had read some of the other desert adventures included in various collections, but this was my first foray into the El Borak tales and I quite enjoyed them.
