"Sir, do you know why you're being abdu... ahem, pulled over?" Something interesting came up on Joe Rogan's podcast with journalist Tim Pool.
We use decoys on animals and they can't figure it out, suppose there are alien decoys walking around that we think are people.
Ants build right next to freeways and don't notice anything. could we be right amid some alien structure but lack the sophistication to comprehend it?

Very cool! Is that how the Hill's described them? I never read much about it just watched the old TV movie with Estell Parsons and James Earl Jones. Pretty scary movie.

Yep, the smartest ant is still dumber than the dumbest rat and so it goes up the line right up the line, we just don't know what the smartest human is dumber than yet.

We also assume that the "greys" are the real deal, as opposed to some artificially grown drone facsimile designed to interact with lower lifeforms. Less aliens and more biogineered lab tools.

Time to rewatch the movie. James Earl Jones is cool but the actress playing betty has always gotten all over my nerves.

Less aliens and more biogineered lab tools. indeed. they could be some advanced robot. Our scientist are starting to put forth the idea that robots may be the best way to explore the cosmos.
There's also the idea that humanity's sole purpose is to create AI, which will go forth as the next step in evolution and "colonize" space.

It's especially applicable if the aliens in question are really weird in some way that makes interacting with normal 4D reality cumbersome. Having something closer to the talking monkey level can be handy when you're a macrodimensional fungus mind from Yuggoth after all.

Alternately there's the theory that UFO'S (and Bigfoot) are extra-dimensional.
Or
Time travelling, hyper evolved humans from the future.

Sort of a puppet through which they can be interact with us man-apes.

Estelle Parsons. That's the actress who gets on my nerves.
I don't know what really happened to the Hills, but they genuinely believed their story. I don't think they were intentional hoaxers.

Has there ever been a sequel to Rogues in the House? I know a fat Murilo appeared in the Conan comics.
I am amusing myself thinking of a plot involving a middle aged Murilo dealing with some unexpected fallout from the Thak incident.

You're in unexplored territory there.
