I'm very pleased to announce the release of my first Sword & Sorcery novel, Wolf in Shadows. Very much in the classic pulp vein, it's the first in a series charting the life and times of a wandering Northern barbarian... here's a trailer! Available direct from my site or via Amazon. I'm also looking for reviews, if anyone would like a review copy, please let me know!

Excellent preview, even if the wonderful old peplum source material might look just a wee bit hokey to modern eyes. Really well put together. Can you tell us your sources for the film clips? How long is the novel? Is it primarily REH inspired or did you have other influences? Congratulations, man. Now, no matter what happens from here, you won't have to wake up, 78 years old, and wonder, "Why didn't I write that novel?"

Just finished reading the sample at Amazon. Very good, with a strong flavor of Howard. I will be getting this tale!

Thanks for the kind words guys! The peplum film clips are from a site called Archive.org It's a treasure trove of old footage, much of it public domain. I wanted a pulpy/epic feel for the vid so that footage just felt right The novel is just under 300 pages in paperback, around 70k words. REH was the main influence, but there is a Lovercraftian element too, couldn't resist! I'm not aiming to tread any new ground, it is an unashamed homage to my literary heroes I've had story ideas for ages, it wasn't until late last year I decided to act on the impulse. Also, self publishing has come a long way in the last couple of years, the finished product looks so much more professional now. I can only advise anyone who is thinking about it to do it! I'm happy to offer any tips or advice. I've uploaded the Prologue and another short extract to the link below EXTRACTThe second volume is already underway, the action moves from urban thieving and intrigue to murder and necromancy in desert lands...

Just read the Amazon preview. An effective and intriguing opening robp! I feel there is a Gemmell vibe there too as well as REH.

Thanks! I'm a bit tied up with a music project at the mo but hope to be back on the book front soon, maybe another promo clip I'm slightly ashamed to say I've only read a couple of Gemmell books, which I did enjoy. I must get round to reading more! I've been reading a lot of "urban fantasy" lately, which is probably another influence, though I couldn't get through The Name of the Wind, shame as it started so well

Congratulations on your book robp! I have written some short stories, but am only now attempting a novel. It’s a daunting undertaking, and I have nothing but respect for those who have done it. I hope to be reading yours soon!

And....purchased! I’ll post a review at Amazon as soon as I finish reading it. I am a notoriously slow reader, so don’t be discouraged if there is no review posted next week; it will come!
