I'm told that my time-lost pastiche, Conan and the Living Plague, is at the printers now. So I imagine it will be available shortly. Hope so. Looking forward to this with a mixture of joy, trepidation and disbelief. Joy because it looks as if the book I worked so hard on so long ago will finally be available for those who want to read it. Trepidation because some of those who want to read it have waited an unholy long time to do so, and if I still think the book is pretty good I'm not sure that it's "I waited 20 years for this?" good. And disbelief, because the novel's path has been so long and beset with obstacles that I really won't believe it's an actual published book until I can hold a copy in my hands. Excellent news. Can't wait to pick up a copy.

Yes the novellas are being collected too : "And the prose serials will be available as a single title from Perilous Worlds this Spring as well" Have we seen more on this? It sounds like this will give us the the novellas complete well ahead of their finales in the comics. I have been hoping this would happen as I have already stopped buying the comics but still want the prose!

Nothing yet , I'm sure Scott or John will keep us informed.I'm waiting to read until they come out rather than wait a month before each installment.

I get COVID did a real number on publishing, but I'm hopeful we'll see something out of this effort. Hey Moderator, can you change the name of topic to "New Official Conan Pastiches in 2021?" Tales from Magician's Skull is my favorite S&S right now but these official Conan pastiches will be A1, pre-order ASAP items for me. I'm hopeful we see some movement.

Does anybody, and I mean anybody out there, know anything about these official pastiche novels, or Perilous Worlds itself? Even with technical issues, editorial problems and COVID restrictions, one would think that Perilous Worlds would throw us a couple of crumbs to maintain interest. But absolutely nothing. All I hear is crickets. This does not bode well...

I believe it has been a missed opportunity considering the increased sales online thanks to the recent lockdowns. They've also had numerous boxes of the Wandering Star books since July and have even failed to get them out there in to the hands of the consumer. it's such a waste. If this is how they do business I have very little faith in their ability to produce anything of consequence in future. I hope I'm wrong but I can't even trust the so-called deal with Netflix.

There are so many books published nowadays that getting them stand out and noticed by potential buyers is a real challenge, even for established writers. Maybe they wait for the TV series to be "on air", expecting to reach a wider audience than the die-hard Conan fans? or maybe indeed they're just hopeless :-(

It would be easier from a business standpoint. I honestly don't think we'll be seeing these books any time soon. The way the first release was pulled back and then new staff was brought in followed by radio silence makes me think these books are not a priority for anyone at Perilous Worlds.

It would probably be a safer bet, provided they re-publish the good pastiches. If they start with Conan of Venarium, we're doomed!!! I remember Fred Malmberg promising not only new Conan pastiches but also new El Borak, Solomon Kane and other books (did he say 2 per months or 1 every 2 months? Can't remember). All we had were comics and a couple of novellas at the end of said comics (the excellent Scott Oden's shadow of vengeance and the very forgettable Solomon Kane story by C. L. Werner). I know it's easy to criticise but maybe he should learn to not over promise, the more so since at the time he obviously had not even signed any authors, let alone found a publisher. It seems to me that during this famous conference he shared his dreams more than actual plans.
