I have always wanted to get my hands on a copy of Cahena, Wellman’s Historical Adventure novel. I understand it’s an excellent blood ‘n’ thunder tale, with possibly some influence/input from KEW. I haven’t seen a copy in the wild, and I don’t believe a paperback version was released. Good candidate for re-printing, I’d say!

He LOOKS like a Manly Wade Wellman! I wonder if that John the Balladeer Baen was in print when I was doing the bookstore rounds in the late 80s/early 90s.

He LOOKS like a Manly Wade Wellman! I'm pretty sure they based the John Thunstone cover on MWW, face-wise.

The Hok stories stand up surprisingly well, compared to a lot of work of the period. Wellman can write a good story, and he was better at creating series than a lot of pulp writers.

Just ordered this a few days ago, should be here soon. Looking forward to reading these stories; the only Wellman book I have is the Hok collection, so this is gonna be a great addition!
