Here's some more of Mahmud Asrar's art in color.

looks about like what we were getting from Dark Horse at the end.
It's not terrible art.

Yeah, the art's not terrible but far from great.
Flicking through all the books relaunched by Marvel recently (Thor, Avengers, Iron Man and Fantastic Four) and you still get the same kinda art. The interior artwork is just too average.
Hopefully, the new SSOC will be in Black & White, and we get to see what the artists can really do without hiding behind all the digital coloring.

Looks ok to me, I can live with it. The generally clean Buscema/Perez/Davis/Morales style of art I prefer is really out of favor these days. So as long as Conan looks like Conan and people look like people, I'll probably be fine with it.

Not bad. Not blown away, but not bad. I'll take it.

I know I keep saying Benito Gallego, but Benito Gallego. Have Big John and Ernie come back to life?

I know I keep saying Benito Gallego, but Benito Gallego. You never know. If Marvel keep the same format with the SSOC I can't imagine a modern artist capable of producing 50 pages of art every month - they don't make em like Buscema anymore. I'm certain the format will attract some top talent and maybe they can squeeze in a couple of Gallego issues a year.

Looks pretty much the standard of most art these days , certainly no BWS,Buscema,Nord or Giorello

The art is exactly what I was not looking for. The art is the same thing Dark Horse was doing after the Giorello period. Not bad, but definitely not great. I'll pass.

I know I keep saying Benito Gallego, but Benito Gallego. Maybe they will give Gallego a shot in that new Hyborian Age comic or Savage Sword if it's anything like the old fashioned version and it runs back up stories from a variety of artists and writers. No denying the art for the new Conan is good but it just doesn't jump out at me and me make want to see what happens next. I'll still probably pick up a few issues just to see if I can get into it though.

The art is good enough I'd say, nothing special but will do the job.

The girls face. I can't tell you what's wrong with it but the way the girls face is drawn sums up whatever it is that's off-putting about this style.

I think what puts me off mainly is that the guy Conan's is fighting looks too much like Planet Hulk, and also the spiked codpiece is a bit much.
