What does the novella layout look like? Hello Scott. I could only find the last page of the novella (sorry about the quality of the screen-grab). I hope that helps. Hey, my title got a cool font. That's nice to see.

They're already doing The Death of Conan? That seems . . . premature.

Is the first issue a decent start? I'll be picking my copy up on the 2nd of next month. Very curious to know if it's any good! Hello and welcome to the forum Mindboggled. I've seen some of the pages in a video review on youtube. From what I have seen it looks pretty good, but, I have tried, probably unsuccessfully, to not take in too much of the review before the release date in a couple of days. When i saw photos of #1, I got excited and misread what you had wrote. I mistakenly thought you had an advance copy and were posting photographs. Thanks for the welcome!

Hello Emerald. Here's a review of the issue at Graphic policy: graphicpolicy.com/2018/12/31/review-conan-the-barbarian-1/ Here's an extract of the review concerning the Black Starlight: ...Beyond the comic, we’re also treated to the first of a twelve part prose story by John C. Hocking, the “Black Starlight.” It’s a solid reminder of the prose origin of the character. The story is great and feels like a bonus for the comic itself. It’s the cherry on top of an already solid read.
I'm really looking forward to this, thanks Emerald.

I'm really looking forward to this, thanks Emerald. Thank you, Hun. Hadn't seen that.
There hasn’t been much prose fiction included in comics since the 1950’s but Conan’s new publisher, Perilous Worlds, thought it was a good idea and that it tied the Cimmerian’s comic adventures a little closer to his pulp roots. Sounded fine to me, so I wrote them a direct sequel to Conan and the Emerald Lotus. It’s cool that the reviewer took the time to say something about Black Starlight as it’s basically a back-up feature and I imagined it would be seen by most as on par with the editorial or letters page.
If it leads a few readers to the prose Conan and REH I’ll be satisfied.

I think they mention Conan and the Emerald Lotus at the bottom of the page next to the Perilous Worlds logo, it's kinda difficult to decipher thanks to the quality of the screen-grab. I think it's something along these lines: For more upcoming and available Conan prose titles from Perilous Worlds including the prequel to this story Conan and The Emerald Lotus visit www.perilousworlds.com.

I haven't had the chance to pick it up yet but seeing a lot of positive reviews. I picked it up, and read it immediately upon getting home. It's a very solid first issue! Jason Aaron is clearly more than capable of writing Conan; he shows respect and love for the character. I'm shocked to actually be writing this(shocked in the good sense) that I spotted NO political correctness!!! Mahud Asrar's art is decent, sometimes it's a bit too simplistic. But there are also some nice panels that have more detail. His action scenes are quiet good tho, easy to follow, with solid fight choreography. Matthew Wilson did his job as the colorist, and that's about it. Nothing really struck out at me as spectacular or truly eye catching. They were okay. Black Starlight part one, the prose story included in issue one is pretty solid. The writing has a nice fast flow it. Information is given quickly without diminishing the writings atmosphere. The only complaint I have is the foreshadowing makes what might happen a little obvious. Part one is very short, only three pages.
