Joe Kubert is in my personal pantheon of greatest comic book artists of all time. I love his stuff and pick up his work or covers whenever I can.

Actually it's the 18th of September that would have been his 90th, but a hearty happy birthday inmemorium for the master of the craft Joe Kubert. from the Grand Comic Book Database... Joe shares a birthday with another legendary creator...William Stout. Stout's work from Wizards... and another Stout piece... -M

The LA Times article didn't give a date. Should've rechecked. Oh well, Joe just got a 10-day b-day party!

My guess was a typo in your source (8/18) or something along those lines, but Joe K deserves a 10 day celebration!

Found these lovelies out in Columbus yesterday...the first volume of Joe Kubert's Abraham Stone stuff as well as a still shrink-wrapped copy of Icon... got a bunch of other stuff too: but Joe K and Frazetta were among thehighlights of the day's haul. -M

...... Limited Collectors Edition #29 (DC Comics) • ERB's The Return Of Tarzan • Cover art by Joe Kubert
...... Got this one back in the seventies when I was a wee lad. Still have it today, yellowed and tattered, but one of my most prized possessions of my childhood.

Got this one back in the seventies when I was a wee lad. Still have it today, yellowed and tattered, but one of my most prized possessions of my childhood. How was the diorama? ...... I thought it was awesome, but even back then I could not bring myself to cut it out. I did spend endless hours studying the Joe Kubert step-by-steps for drawing animals. Even to this day I can sketch a passable Mangani, thanks to Joe!

My memories of Kubert mainly center around Haunted Tank, Sgt Rock, The Viking Prince...and also Tomahawk which I think he worked on? He provided endless hours of fuel for my imagination being a country boy stuck in the middle of nowhere. He did his job well.
wow, almost forgot about Hawkman...I liked Hawkgirl better though, she was hot with that yellow halter top...oh yeah
