Does anyone know FOR CERTAIN if the 10 pages of Savage Avengers in the Free Comic Book Day Avengers is stand-alone, all knew, or just a reprint of what is in Savage Avengers 1. It will save me the troyuble of waking up early and standing on line on May 4th, but I need to know for sure. Thanks.

But the first issue of Savage Avengers will be released next Wednesday on the 1st of May before Free Comic Book Day which will be on Saturday the 4th of May. If you can pick up the first issue early look out for these preview pages from the Free Comic Book Day Avengers issue. Hope that helps. Here's the link to the Free Comic Book Day Avengers preview: www.freecomicbookday.com/Catalog/JAN190007Sometimes the link above don't work - here's a link to all the books available on Free Comic Book Day (the Avengers comic should be on the top row): www.freecomicbookday.com/catalog

Thanks Hun. That seems a reasonable way to go.

Just for fun, I was trying to think of how Conan in the modern MU should go, taking it somewhat seriously. For starters, he wouldn't stay in the Savage Land because all the freaking dinosaurs and monsters would be too much of a pain in the ass to deal with on an ongoing basis. Conan would do what he always does and explore the wonders of the modern world. Since he's a fighting man by nature and by trade, he would familiarize himself with modern weaponry and armor and probably find places where a man with his skills would be useful. He wouldn't stick around with some team like the Avengers because he's too much of an alpha to tolerate playing second fiddle to anyone for long and he would chafe at the restrictions of a modern civilized nation (so no pimping like in that old What If? story, either). He'd probably end up exploring third world countries and find some outfit he could hire onto as a mercenary, and from there he would do as he does: work his way up the ladder, take out whoever the alpha there is, and then expand his influence until he has a nice territory of his own until he either gets bored or is forced out and has to start over somewhere else.

Excellent Andys. Sounds a lot more like the Cimmerian.

I don't get paid until Friday, so I have to wait until then before I can pick this up.

This was fun and exceedingly stupid. I can now write with confidence that I prefer Conan being written by Gerry Duggan over Jason Aaron. Jason writes him too inconsistently and out of character often. The art in this series is odd to say the least. looking like cel shaded video game graphics half the time. I'am not condoning dumb crossovers like this one, I read it online for free. Marvel should have kept Conan unconnected.
