Savage Sword of Conan #6 will be the start of a new creative team on the title: Meredith Finch (writing), Luke Ross (art), David Finch and Frank D'Armata (covers) Shame to see no more Alex Ross covers. Luke Ross worked on the recent Hercules series and could be a good fit for Conan. Savage Sword of Conan #6 Debuts New Creative Team

Looks interesting...
Marvel have done OK with Conan so far but, looking at the previous art of Luke Ross in Hercules it seems like more of the same. Not great, it'll just be OK, kinda.

3 panels from SSOC #6 by Luke Ross: Looks like something from the old Savage Sword mags. There was one artist who's art looked very similar to this, alas, his name escapes me.

3 panels from SSOC #6 by Luke Ross: This is so average. When will big names get assigned?

This looks better: Indeed, it does! Reminiscent of Savage Sword of old! It should BE in black and white like this, too!

This looks better: The colorist will either make it, or brake it!

Put it out in magazine size, no color, and add some back-up stories. If they put it in magazine size, no color and back up stories, it is a wrap. It is a success. The way it is today is just another average comic. Nothing to bother about.

Yeah, unfortunately Marvel don't like taking that kinda risk with a black and white magazine sized book. They only consider short term sales when it comes to the Direct Market - they just wanna apply same old strategy with loads of variant covers and relaunch a book as soon as sales get too low with another batch of variant covers.
