Is this being released by marvel or Black Horse? DH just released a larger version of this for about the same price. It'll be interesting to see if it sells more than the 700+ the Conan Reader did.

I got Jewels when it was out...I remember liking it pretty well. PCR said he conceived it as a sequel to Red Nails since JoG comes after it (in certain chronologies anyway). I'd actually like to see it in B&W, though Russell is usually better in color. He got the pants right!

I'd still be on board if Marvel got Robertson to do either of the "Black" frontier stories, though they're not in the adaptation state of mind right now. I didn't think his stories at DH worked all that well, but his artwork would really do those two REH tales justice.

Yeah, I could see Darick Robertson doing quite well with the Frontier stories.
Hopefully CtB will eventually follow some kinda continuity and this neglected period of Conan's career would be an ideal starting point - even if it takes them a couple of years before they adapt Beyond the Black River.

I'd love to see Marvel do an entire book dedicated to the Hyborian Age frontier. Pair Robertson up with someone like Tim Truman and Roy Thomas and just let Conan go nuts on some Picts or anyone else who gets in his way.
