i found 3 of my best free tales from the old forum: Bucks Sorcess. Adventures under scarlet sails (story, translation by V. Levchenko ), pp. 416-427 Bucks Sorcess. Night horror in Stygia (story, translation by V. Levchenko ), pp. 428-432 Bucks Sorcess. The Nightmare of King Conan (short story, translation by they are all in ... fantlab.ru/edition196117the site are cheeky bastards. but its nice to know that they liked the tales enough to bother translating into russian. == >>>> i cant read any tales there yet. i presume i have to register? i would like to see how well they are translated from my english? are they charging money to read the tales? == thanks Jeff. Interesting, Sorceress. Basically, anything written about Conan is getting appropriated by the Russians -- to what end, I don't know. I hope they aren't charging rubels for these. I mean, if it's a total raging fan effort, where they translate for their non-English speaking brothers and share the stories for free, that's fine. However, I do want credit for my work, and I certainly don't want anyone selling some foreign translation of it that may or may not reflect on how I originally presented it in my native tongue. I noticed the English translation of the Russian name of my Atlas of the Serpent Men was Snake People Map. I was like - WTFH? I chose the word Atlas because Map is mundane. I don't want the word 'map' anywhere near the title. The title is possibly the best thing about the story - it's provocative and mysterious. It's now been reduced to a banal commonality. Also, the cover art was missing, not sure what's up with that.

fantlab.ru/enQuestions and answers
Can I download texts here?
Answer: No. This is not a library It'd be curious to see where they are getting their Russian translations from. They're certainly not getting translated versions from the locations where I made mine available. Still love this piece by Okan Bülbül!

I might feel differently if it was something completely original I wrote that I felt proprietary about. (I wouldn't have posted that sort of thing on a blog or forum, either.)
The Sigyn stuff is just me amusing myself by aping the pulp masters, and wallowing in the Hyborian sandbox. I'm fine with it being made available elsewhere.
Enjoy that pulpy schlock, tovarisch!

"waiting to see if any more show" reminds me of my rock band days... Oh don't it though! I remember we had a 'gig' one time, invited another band to 'open' for us and invited a bunch of people. Basically, each band ended up being the other's audience! We did have a small handful show, but not many. We had a great set list, too: Metallica's Thing that Should not Be, Queensrÿche's I Don't Believe in Love, Riot's Outlaw, etc. Ah, those were the days, Char-Vell. Been there! Made some good friends that way though.
Sounds like you guys had a solid setlist. I could never get with a singer who could pull off Queensryche.

I would go with Charts of the Snake Dudes, but someone would inevitably call it Sharts of the Snake Dudes to mock me!

Agreed -- great way to meet new musicians and friends. Our singer was a Journey nut. He also imitates voices -- when he sings Ozzy or Dio or Phil from Pantera or Layne Staley, it sounds like you're in the room with them. He can basically do anyone, which was fun because it lent such credibility to your covers when the singer sounds just like the real deal. We used to do King Diamond, Merciful Fate, Slayer, COC, Judas Priest -- you name it, each with a voice that sounded like the real deal -- or a very close facsimile of it. I watched him do Rainbow in the Dark once with another band and they couldn't believe how much he sounded like Dio. It was crazy. So yeah, Queensryche was nothing for him to do. He was just always wanting to do I Feel Good by James Brown.... geeze..... <Edit> Oh my, you should hear him do Glen Danzig! Haha--we used to do Mother, Twist of Cain, etc. Always loved that first "Motherrrrrrr".....

Looks like my own four Conan fanfics are over there as well, in two collections, one of which is titled after my Yaralet yarn Shadow in the Flame: Shadow in the Flame translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=ru&sp=nmt4&tl=en&u=http://fantlab.ru/edition184591&xid=17259,15700002,15700021,15700186,15700190,15700248,15700253&usg=ALkJrhiHoKkvBmzOAQbDVfKumtFb0wRIgg Conan and the Demon's Daughter translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=ru&sp=nmt4&tl=en&u=http://fantlab.ru/edition196117&xid=17259,15700002,15700021,15700186,15700190,15700248,15700253&usg=ALkJrhjisETkYvCu7u-dkUJQ6hFyeW81dA Bux's are in both as well. They get her name right in the first of the above. They also have yarns from Mirrorthief (listed as Sermon Bat), Amrathelion and Al Harron. Since it's translated into Russian and then back again through google, which tends to miss certain nuances, it's difficult to know how accurate the actual translations are. For instance my Wolf in Moonlight comes back as 'Wolf in the Radiance of the Moon.'

Where for art though, Vonk! Ist a mote of moonbeam? Or ist but the light from the loo that doth sprinkle oer yonder as a sparkling ribbon? Reminds me a little of Terry Pratchett, from under the sweep of who's satirical gaze far few didst 'scape unscathed. He did a skit on the witches from Macbeth once with Weird Sisters: [Thunder booms and lightning crashes] First Witch: [ominous voice] When shall we three meet again. Second Witch: [comedic voice] Oooh, well I can do next Tuesday. # By and large I think google translate is fairly miraculous, but it does tend to miss a lot of the nuance.

Самиздат и фэнзины - Self-publishing and fanzinesThis is not a real book - just a fan translation, printed a few copies not for sale. you seem to have a grasp of the Russian language?
How would I go about getting a copy of this?
