Titan buys Hocking novel
Titan will publish a novel by American fantasy author John C Hocking.
Laurie Blum Guest, who heads up the recently formed US agency Re-Naissance, brokered a co-edition with the Titan Publishing Group on behalf of Perilous Worlds for Conan And The Living Plague.
Titan Books' acquisitions editor Simon Ward acquired rights for UK, Ireland, and British Commonwealth with publication scheduled for September 2019. Perilous Worlds is a sci-fi and fantasy book press and will publish Conan And The Living Plague in the US later this month.
"Sent to recover treasure from a plague-wracked city, not only must Conan avoid its deranged survivors, but battle a deadly disease given humanoid shape," the synopsis reads. "To save himself – and perhaps the world — he allies with a scheming sorcerer to traverse a demon-haunted abyss in a desperate bid to destroy the Living Plague."

That's an alliance that won't last long, considering Conan's disdain for magic. In fact, with the general reputation of sorcerers in the Hyborian Age, it's pretty much guaranteed that this one will betray him at some point.

According to the above article the Perilous Worlds edition is gonna be released next month. But, you still cannot pre-order the books from their website and they should be available for pre-order on Amazon by now.

Link: www.thebookseller.com/news/titan-buys-hocking-novel-983591 Thanks, Hun. I hadn't seen this, though I understood it was on the way. Wonder if Titan will give the book a cover of their own?
Don't focus too closely on the back-cover copy. I didn't write it. The publisher let me write the back cover copy of the trade paperback of Conan and the Emerald Lotus. Which was huge fun. The pocket book version had new back-cover copy that I didn't write. I like mine better, of course.
I actually wrote back-cover copy for Conan and the Living Plague way back in the day. You know, just in case.
Nobody asked for it this time around, but here it is in all its pulpy splendor....
Robert E. Howard's immortal hero, Conan of Cimmeria, seeks a fabled trove of diamonds in the plague-wracked city of Dulcine, and finds himself in league with desperate rogues, surrounded by a hostile army and pursued by creatures too foul to die. To survive and prevail the mighty barbarian must traverse a demon-haunted void between worlds and challenge the godlike destroyer of Dulcine, the most lethal creature ever spawned by darkest sorcery, the Living Plague.

Thanks John. The excitement is mounting. The copper rings on my big breastplates are sparking. those written demons got restless after 20 dark years...now they crave to be published ?

It's not up on the Titan website yet, so there's still hope.

I'm pretty sure that is the cover for the paperback of King Conan Hour of the Dragon, except mostly covered in red. Hopefully not the final product.

I had same concern; Conan himself looks good but the red and blending looks bizarre. Looking at the website: titanbooks.com/catalog/fiction/fantasy/?page=1They put out solid, professional looking covers, so I'm going to assess this is just a dummy/mockup someone did quickly, to have SOMETHING to throw up on Amazon... Mick.
