Terry Dotson's style is a little on the cartoony side, but he's just an alternate cover. Here's a page Aneke did for Red Sonja:

Even the garish colors suck. At least Age of Conan is consistent and we know to avoid it like the plague it is. Thanks for the warning Hun

That dialogue and characterization... ugh. I hope the rest of the issue is better.
I had high Hope's after Finch's SSOC issue.
I'll give this a shot. Finch earned it.

I agree with you guys, but I'll give the first issue a shot. If it really is as bad as it looks, maybe it'll at least have some collector's value down the road.

"Hi, I'm Valeria."
Such Howardian dialogue.

Yup, they put a lot of time, effort and thought into making this a literary classic.

I had hoped that perhaps they might have learned from mistakes they made with the Disney princess that was Belit. Maybe not.
I will give it a go as well, but my hopes sank when I saw that preview.

Am I the only one who is more disturbed by the fact that he is blacksmithing basically naked than the writing?

Am I the only one who is more disturbed by the fact that he is blacksmithing basically naked than the writing? So far, I find the whole Age of Conan series disturbing... very disturbing. I can understand them getting Belit wrong, there is a tradition going back to the Wood run at DH - even the Glenat adaptation is pretty poor in comparison to the adaptations that follow QotBC. Now they have to go and destroy Valeria. The only way these creators can get Belit and Valeria right is by directly adapting REH. They seem incapable of adding anything of relevance or interest to these great characters. What a waste of potential.
