Or maybe a more apropos thread title would be: When Bear Creek came to Lakewood! Parents throw punches — not baseballs — in brawl at children's baseball game in Colorado
This article reminded me of my Breckenridge Elkins poem. I took this opportunity to tweak it a bit, so it's a tad different than the original! Funny stuff. Ode to Breckenridge and Cap'n Kid
Ole Breck's ma wuz up before th' dawnin', th' sun was still yawnin', out on the porch, in under the awnin', Pa was puffin' a pipe when he took a terrible maulin'
Cap'n Kid was known to kick and tear up th' sod. to Breckenridge's applaud, But that durn horse orter been outlawed, when ma saw pa and yelled, "That ear's been chawed!"

You’re a dab hand at the slang rhyme Chris. Heaven forfend you ever have to rhyme that deadly sound which causes even Cap'n Kid to grit his teeth, show the whites of his eyes and head for the hills: Brek-in-riiiiiiiiiidge!
