So is the show having a break before the next half of the season? I know they're still filming.

This trailer is labeled as Season 5, but it's really 4.5. A good bit of new footage here.

These last ten episodes are the end of Season 4, they're Season 4.5.
There is going to be a Season 5. It's been announced that Jonathan Rhys Meyers has been cast, but not who he's playing. It seems like it could be Alfred the Great.

I haven't seen much of it but what I have seen looks fantastic.
Another great Viking themed series is The Last Kingdom, streamable on Netflix.

I really like the edition of all his sons, which I think will garner even more interest in this season - it certainly has for me. Indeed, I'm especially enjoying Ivar. He provided a plethora of entertainment all on his own. He's definitely his father's son. I think he's either a sociopath or he's on the autism spectrum like Ragnar, or possibly both. It's going to be interesting to see what Magnus is like now, as well as Alfred. I'm guessing they're not quite as old as the Sons of Ragnar, but they should be getting pretty close in age. The scenes with Ragnar and Floki was quite good, especially the final scene where they parted way.s It looks like this will be another seasons of the tri-setting: Kattegat, Paris, and Wessex.

Yes, of Ragnar's sons, Ivar is by far the most interesting and intriguing character, and I look forward to watching how his story unfolds. I don't know if he's a sociopath, but he's certainly his father's son, as you say. I read somewhere that the real historical Ivar had children, so he may not be as...dysfunctional as we think he is. Agreed on your other points. Entertainment Weekly gave this episode an A-

Damn, how the mighty have fallen in regards to Ragnar. He kept his distance from everyone at the feast and is even digging up his stash to fund the raid.
I pity anyone who is on Ivar's bad side. Sooner or later, he has to become more mobile I would think. He's going to lay a beat down on Sigurd. It was cool how Ubba said Ivar scared him.
What was up with Aslaug at the end. Did she have a miscarriage or was her womb bleeding more symbolic as Ivar was in danger? He's definitely her favorite son.
Call me crazy, but I'm actually looking forward to seeing what's going on in Wessex and Paris next week.

I know she was feeling Ivar's pain and distress, so perhaps that caused her to bleed somehow. Self-inflicted maybe? Ragnar needs to find a good horse to strap Ivar to, as it's going to be a long trek without one...assuming they didn't drown. Looking forward to Wessex too!
