Solomon Kane was old enough to sail with Sir Francis Drake.
Sonya of Rogatino was a young woman at the Siege of Vienna. HOLY COW!....Now I would need to write that story.....

HOLY COW!....Now I would need to write that story..... Derp, turns out I got my sieges wrong. Been ages since I read Shadow of the Vulture. I was thinking it was set during the 1683 siege WHEN THE WINGED HUSSARS ARRIVED! (which would be a bit too late in history for anyone who was a sailor under the reign of Queen Elizabeth I to make an appearance), not the earlier one in 1529. Honestly, that almost has the opposite problem. If anything, it might be Sonja who's pushing senescence when the Golden Hind first puts to sea. Let's see... if she's 18 at Vienna (9 years younger than her sister, Sultana Roxelana), she'll be 70 at that point. I... guess that's doable?

...of course, if they can preincarnate Red Sonya into the Hyborian Era, then moving people around by a few mere decades without aging them shouldn't be any harder.

Its just a matter of time and creative thinking before finding a proper solution for that idea/story, obviously I would need to move some things but thats how creative writting works.

Well you could also always say that she and Von Kalmbach had (grand) children who are very much like them...

Apologies for the silence guys but I stopped posting when this thread started to look like my own web page with basically only me posting. I did not want to bore people with my passion for SK pastiches. So the mysterious cross-over seems actuallu not really a cross-over but a story with a character looking like SK teaming up with a character looking like SoR (copyrights issues I guess). The short story is from "swords of havoc 4" by Fred Blosser. Here's the link www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0988D91D5/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1

HOLY COW!....Now I would need to write that story..... One day, half-serious/half-joking I suggested to Mr Oden on Twitter he should write a prequel to "shadow of the vulture" involving the events described in "the Black Stone". This story remains to be written if you're interested

This story remains to be written if you're interested That could works, am currently writting a Solomon Kane pastiche that continues the story "Castle of the Devil" but as the fragment tha we have in Spanish was completed by a different author maybe my take will look really different .

Yeah, Vampire Hunter D is the best clone ever created, am writting 2 pastiches of him but they are currently on hold as most of my time is now dedicated to my board games.

As I mentioned in the first post, this thread started from a discussion about SK clones in movies, notably Captain Kronos. I recently discovered a sequel to “Captain Kronos, vampire hunter” was made in comics and published in Hammer’s magazine (“House of Hammer”). I read it yesterday and it’s quite good. It’s in B&W like most SK comics and the characters really look like the actors who played them in the Hammer movie (except Carla that doe snot lool too much like Caroline Munro). It is available on the Internet Archive (issues 1 to 3). Kronos is not Kane but I recommend this comic to any REH fans that know by heart Kane’s adventures and would settle for a good pastiche. I've purchased the Titan Comics (another sequel) but I've not read it yet. I read today the Titan Comics: Captain Kronos, vampire hunter. It's not an adaptation of the movie but a sequel. Link to the comicsI absolutely loved it: loved the story (can be quite scary and there's a twist) and loved the art. Granted it's closer to Hugh Jackman's Van Helsing or Hansel & Gretel, witch hunters than Solomon Kane but I guess any fan of the Puritan will enjoy a swashbuckler cutting off some vampires' heads (Halloween is in 2 weeks). Why Carla has become a green-eyed red-haired woman is a mystery to me :-) That did not seem to bother Caroline Munro who wrote the intro. And Grost has lost his hump... and a leg (WTF? )

Just for fun I've asked Chat CGP to write a new adventure of SK in the style of REH. The result is more average fan fiction than pastiche.
Here's the story.
Solomon Kane and the Crimson Cult
Solomon Kane rode through the dark forest, his keen eyes searching for any sign of danger. He had been tracking a band of robbers who had been terrorizing the countryside, and he was determined to put an end to their evil deeds. As he rode deeper into the woods, he saw a flicker of light in the distance. Curiosity getting the better of him, he urged his horse forward.
As he drew closer, he saw that the light was coming from a small clearing, and in the center of it stood a group of robed figures, chanting in an unknown tongue. Kane's hand went to the hilt of his sword as he dismounted and crept closer to the cultists.
Suddenly, one of the cultists spotted him and cried out in alarm. The others turned to face him, their eyes blazing with madness. Kane recognized the cult as the Crimson Cult, a group of fanatics who worshipped an ancient demon.
"Who are you, and what do you want?" demanded the leader of the cultists.
"I am Solomon Kane, and I have come to put an end to your wickedness," replied Kane.
The cultists laughed, and one of them stepped forward, wielding a wicked-looking sacrificial knife. "You are a fool to challenge us, Kane. You will be our sacrifice to the Dark One!"
With that, the cultists charged at Kane, their blades flashing in the moonlight. Kane met them head-on, his sword flashing in a deadly dance. Despite their numbers, he fought with a ferocity born of righteous anger, cutting down cultist after cultist with swift strokes of his blade.
Finally, only the cult leader remained. He was a towering figure, with eyes that burned with an otherworldly fire. Kane could sense the evil power that radiated from him, and he knew that this would be his toughest opponent yet.
The cult leader attacked with a fury, but Kane was ready for him. They fought back and forth, their blades clashing in a deadly dance. Finally, with a swift stroke, Kane struck down the cult leader, and the other cultists fell to the ground, dead or dying.
Breathless from the fight, Kane knelt beside the body of the cult leader and whispered a prayer of exorcism. A chill wind swept through the clearing, and the body of the cult leader dissolved into dust. The Crimson Cult was no more.
Kane stood up and gazed around the clearing, his eyes still ablaze with righteous anger. "Let this be a warning to all who would traffic with the forces of darkness," he said. "Solomon Kane will always be there to strike down evil wherever it may lurk." With that, he mounted his horse and rode off into the night, his mission of justice and vengeance never-ending.

I've finally read the cross-over between Kane and Red Sonya of Rogatino. The book is called Swords of Havoc and was written by Fred Blosser. It contains 2 short stories. Swords of havoc is an unofficial sequel to the Shadow of the Vulture with a character like Von Kalmbach, a character like Sonya and a character like Solomon Kane. Of course it's not half as good as Shadow of the vulture but it's quite enjoyable. The SK-like character has a tenuous link to the story. "Whispers in the skull”, the 2nd short story, is a classic gothic sword and sorcery vampire story where the SK-like character teams up with the Red Sonya-like character. At £0.77 on Amazon it's a no brainer.
