While doing some research for my own Conan pastiches I found this mini series called " Conan and the Midnight God", the story starts with BUT he is already King of Aquilonia and he is also already married to Zenobia and waiting for a heir when he recieves a visit from Stygia, then a plot starts and Conan must reach Stygia to finish this plot for good. Although I liked the story the art its a little wierd at the first and last issues and also I feel that the story was the beggining of a bigger arc that never materialize and also I always had the question of why this was not part of the " King Conan" series. What are your thoughts on this mini series???

I thought it was a little too downbeat and depressing. It was done back in the era when DH was cranking out the minis along with the regular series, so themes and story ideas introduced there simply weren't picked up by other writers. The appearance by the one character from Songs of the Dead in the main series only happened because Tim drew the mini and was writing the series.

That could explain it, its a shame that DH never properly completed their Conan run as we also missed a " Red Nails" adpatation and I would like to have more King Conan stories featuring Zenobia.
