Sony confirmed during a PlayStation investor briefing in late May 2022 that a God of War TV series has been signed by Amazon's Prime Video streaming service.
That's in addition to an early Deadline report that claimed Amazon was negotiating for a live-action adaptation. Then months later, this December, Deadline had another bombshell report, confirming that the show has had a series order confirmed, so it's definitely coming.
It reports that the show will be written by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby with Rafe Judkins (who's worked on The Wheel of Time for Amazon already - which is not particularly encouraging).
It's still too early to know the cast, but HHH and The Rock are in the running for the leading role. Frankly, my money's on H in this case. The man is perfect for the role.

I was a fan of the first two games back on PS2 and I did enjoy the first, recent one (2018?). There were tiny hints of wokeness in that game but the gameplay overpowered it completely. The newest game took the wokeness even further and Kratos is now a walking shell of his former self. The new game is a walking/climbing simulator with a ton of cut scenes that feature Odin being a New York gangster and Kratos a mewling pussy of a nurse maid. Given that, I have ZERO hope for this. Actually zero hope for much these days. HHH would be the better candidate by far, but he has lost most of his build from his former days and after an emergent health incident I doubt he would be able to bulk up in size using the usual elite/hollywood assistance.
The Rock, as an action star is and always has been mediocre at best. After all his movies not a single one could break even the Top 6 or 7 Arnold movies, or Stallone's. Hell I would rather watch the 90's JCVD movies than anything The Rock has produced. He's an over-produced, cookie cutter action star who takes few risks in his acting. It's weird because he was one of the most charismatic wrestlers of all time, but it did not transfer to movies at all.
