Was just at Mark Wheatley and Mark Schultz's Conan panel, moderated by Don Simpson at this year's PulpFest.
Wheatley indicated he was commissioned by a television production company to do a People of the Black Circle image for a mini series that the company believes they can produce because the story is public domain, but they are changing Conan to Turlough Dubh O'Brien to avoid trademark issues.
It was a cool looking Black and white image, but I couldn't get my camera up in time.
Looks pretty cool.
So be on the lookout for this. I doubt it will get past the lawyers, though.

Updated first post. This is a proposed television mini series, not a comic.

Well as PotBC is my favourite Conan story I'd be happy to see some sort of adaptation , it will be a blow to the nose of Malmberg and his crew if it actually gets made and they _still_haven't managed to get something done themselves!

It could work in an early medieval setting in the British Isles when you think about it. We’ll see how these guys do.

I don't know if we should get too excited but I've just seen this on Twitter/X
Mark Wheatley (don't know who he is to be honest) wrote: This is a development painting I was commissioned to do for a proposed #RobertEHoward TV series. If you like my poster art for #RebelMoon you would like this TV show. He didn't write "you would have liked this TV show"... Maybe I'm reading too much in this (+ I'm not a native English speaker)

Could have been the one from Pulpfest.

Is this the 1st time a Conan story will be adapted into a different character? De Camp & Thomas Conan-ized so many others, I suppose turnabout is fair-play ... & even about due?

As far as live-action, no. The Kevin Sorbo Kull film was a reworked Hour of the Dragon. But I can't think of any others off the top of my head.
