Cover by Graham Ingels. Best known for his work in 1950s EC Comics, he also worked for Fiction House illustrating pulp magazines. Here's his cover for the Spring, 1944 issue of Planet Stories.

Saucy Movie Tales from September, 1936. This pulp could be counted on for provocative covers.

Pat was his cousin, not his sister. I just picked up Brand of the Werewolf because I wanted to try a story with her in it. We'll see. I enjoy the concept of Doc Savage and team but so far I've found the stories' crafting a bit too slapdash. That article has a nice thumbnail of characters and titles to investigate. Thanks!

You're quite right, Paul. I knew that, but sometimes I get in a hurry because I'm actually working on something else and just quickly jump over to post. Hastiness doesn't always make for accuracy. Here's a bit more on Pat Savage: www.pulpfest.com/2017/06/wild-adventures-pat-savage/

Not strictly "pulp", but hilarious (to me). Classics of the long-forgotten "hardboiled/spicy/noir librarian" sub-genre...
