I'm hoping someone can help me. I've recently discovered copies of some old Fantastic magazines that have the original pastiches published back in the 1950's. I have Conan the Victorious which is a title I had never heard of (aside from the TOR novel by Robert Jordan), but I confirmed by comparison that the story is actually chapters 2-5 of Conan the Avenger by Bjorn Nyberg and deCamp. I tried to find some information about it and other than the title "The Return of Conan" (that I was already familiar with), Wikipedia only says that it is "a 1968 collection of two fantasy works". My question is this - what is the second "fantasy work" that is collected here? I know that Conan the Avenger contains part of the Hyborian Age essay, but what story makes up the other several chapters of Avenger?
Any insight is appreciated.

The Wikipedia entry has it right: The Return of Conan, which is the story we all refer to as Conan the Avenger, and the 2nd part of the Hyborian Age are the two stories contained within. The front page of Conan the Avenger does list the info about Conan the Victorious appearing in Fantastic in 1957 just as noted. It's a bit of a stretch to call the Hyborian Age part a story, but that's what they're referring to.

Gotta say, I've always liked this tale; not a great Conan story, but a decent fantasy/adventure. It's been at least 25 years since I last read this one, time for a re-read...

Thanks everyone. The link Terry provided mentioned that The Return of Conan was "expanded" from Conan the Victorious so I guess it's as simple as that. Thanks for the info everyone.
