Off the topic of Conan, but related to the discussion of fakes, hoaxes, and other "previously undiscovered" pieces... I was surprised to see a previously-unknown origin for the toy character He-Man, complete with line art on forty-year-old paper. Frankly, I'm suspicious. If anyone here has an eye for spotting anachronisms in comic book art (circa 1980), or even forensic training that might help reveal the facts, please let me know what you think about this: www.motucfigures.com/2009/10/holy-cow-never-before-seen-unpublished.html

The post in the link is from 2009. That's over seven years ago. Nobody has figured this out yet? This thread on the He-Man forum comes up with nothing: www.he-man.org/forums/boards/showthread.php?179059-original-art-from-unpublished-he-man-origin-comic! The art looks just like that of Adrian Gonzalez, who is supposed to have been the artist. Adrian was a Filipino, just like Alcala, who also did early concept work for He-Man. At this point, all the art has been sold. I wouldn't think it would be that hard to contact Gonzalez's family in the age of Facebook. The art looks good. Honestly, it would probably cost more to pay someone to pull off a "hoax" than what it brought in on eBay, but I may be wrong.

I remember He-Man back from the day. Enjoyed the TV show and owned many of the toys. Haven't thought much about it in years, but it was a fun thing when I first saw it and my kids liked watching it when they were younger. It was cheezy and cool at the same time, which is often hard to pull off. I'm pretty sure that there was a RPG for He-Man, but I don't know anything about it.

For a different angle on He-Man, check out the Netflix series (just aired end of 2017) called The Toys that Made Us.
I haven't watched the He-Man episode yet, but the Star Wars and Barbie back-stories were fascinating, to say the least.

The He Man episode of The Toys That Made Us on Netflix is very interesting. I was too old for the line when it came out. Lookingback on it they were doing some really cool, gonzo stuff that tapped heavily into pulp and weird fiction tropes.
The Filmation cartoon was pretty watered down but I have an affection for it,
