I really wish someone would compile all of these into a single volume of only James Allison. The James Allison Collective. The Garden of Fear and Other (James Allison Tales). Etc. Alas, I know of no such volume so I have spent years periodically running one to earth and only recently completed (to the best of my knowledge) my collection of these fabulous stories and fragments by Robert E. Howard. If someone pulls some other title out of a hat I have't heard of it will not disappoint me, but give me yet another goal. I'm also trying to run down all tales written by Nictzen Dyalhis, quite the task. Anyone have Underworld Magazine from Dec. 1933 by chance? Haha - it contains a rarity by Dyalhis. But below is a photo of my Allison tales I wished to share with the community, and ask - has anyone else assembled all of these? Or does anyone know of a collection I've somehow missed that contains all of these? Legend1. Black Eons 2. Brachen the Kelt 3. The Garden of Fear 4. Genseric's Fifth-Born Son 5. The Guardian of the Idol 6. Marchers of Valhalla 7. The Tower of Time 8. The Valley of the Worm

Yes it is! Still like to have all the Allisons ' under one roof' so to speak, though. It's nearly beyond belief that with all the interest in Howard's work that no one has done a compilation of all these Allisons and that you have to buy each individually to get them all.

Man, I wish I had ordered this book when it first came out. This is the Foundation book that really grabs my attention, but I never sprang for it (shipping is a little steep considering it's only just north of the 49th). Any still available?

All of the Allison tales are in there, there are just a bunch of non-Allison yarns as well.

The Foundation could tell you. The way for Canucks to pick up REHF books "cheap" is just to attend Howard Days. They have plenty for sale there, no shipping. If you look at the trip as its own thing, then there is no shipping for any books you pick up. There are a lot of other REH/S&S books for sale there as well.

That's an awesome excuse to attend Howard Days, but I don't think my wife will see it my way! My daughter has some goods shipped to a address just over the border near her town, a 30 minute drive one way. I think I can make this work. It looks like the book might still be available, judging from the Foundation site...

Is it missing The Tower of Time and Black Eons from the Allison stuff?
Looks like an awesome compilation, but would still be incomplete as to the J.A. stuff.
I guess I'd like to see these compiled together by their selves just like Gent From Bear Creek compiled Breckenridge Elkins stories.

"The Tower of Time" is there under its alternate title "Akram the Mysterious". "Black Eons" is in the Horror Stories collection, because it is not specified that the protagonist (called just an Allison) is indeed James Allison.

I will bet my last dollar that REH never intended the "Unaussprechlichen Kulten Fragment" -- which makes up the beginning of Price's "Black Eons" -- to be an Allison story. The "Allison" depicted by Howard sounds hardly anything like the crippled James Allison described in all the JA stories/fragments. If it's actually a character REH wrote about before, it would be Steve Allison from REH's juvenilia. The same Allison who crossed paths with Frank Gordon/El Borak a few times. I have respect for Bob Price, but he totally dropped the ball in that instance.

All these things are tied together, you just need to tie the right threads! There's no way the Costigan in Skull-Face is the same one as in Pit of the Serpent, no matter that both of their names are Steve.

Are the Marchers of Valhalla drafts out there in any other form apart from the newsletter special I haven't been able to track down?
