Sounds pretty good, but this cover isn't so great. I've seen much better from Grindberg.

Sounds pretty good, but this cover isn't so great. I've seen much better from Grindberg. I would agree that it isn't his best work, but put it in perspective and think back to all the covers during the QotBC run.

This cover is excellent compared to some bad covers and it is just ok at most compared to some good ones.

This cover is looser and sketchier than those we've gotten used to. But it's got more style, vitality, soul, and honest connection to the best artists in the heroic fantasy tradition than any we've seen in a while. (Mark Schultz's cover for Conan the Slayer #1 excepted.)
It's not a super-polished work, but it says Sword & Sorcery to me.

I liked it. I'm starting to suspect that they're trying the slow buildup with Conan (having them talk) and Octavia. His "men stop their bleating when dead" was pretty funny in a darkly humorous way
