Dark Agnes 1 23,631 Dark Agnes 2 16,942 I don't see why this wouldn't be enough for a single five or six issue mini-series like the Age of Conan ones. Maybe there was some other problems with artist/writer or whatever.

IIRC this was around when Covid started , and quite a number of series' were cancelled/postponed by Marvel at the time. As these figures were pretty low I imagine it wasn't worth bothering carrying on.

Dark Agnes 1 23,631 Dark Agnes 2 16,942 Hmm...those numbers look familiar... Plus it ran smack into the pandemic, so they must've felt it didn't build any momentum for people to come back months later. (Edit-what he said). Prices are likely not being helped by the paper shortage. Mark Waid went into detail about it over on the Masterworks board. Same thing with everyone's vinyl reissue plans for music. Something to be said for digital...

What a shame the Dark Agnes comic was really fun to read and I was waiting for more numbers and then I notice that it was cancelled. Hopefully having King Conan as a Mini-series could make the numbers better as some people are more likely to invest in short but high quality stories.

If that's the case where will Marvel go from there? Will it even be worth them relaunching CtB at all with it being one of the lowest selling titles. Even Savage Avengers , with rumours of changes/cancellation , is now the 6th lowest. Marvel put out 60+ titles last month ,is it really worth their while bothering at all especially as they pay a licence fee which must make it even less cost effective for them. I know they are doing a great job restoring and collecting the old Conan comics in the omnibus format. Nevertheless, they have reduced the page count in recent solicitations and the price has gone up to $150!! Omnibus sales could change very quickly next year.
I know! I received Amazing Spider-Man Volume 5 in the mail and was shocked how thin it is compared to the other 4 volumes.

I dunno about the page count, but probably printed by Imak in Istanbul, Turkey. The binding is pretty good, but the paper is quite thin in comparison to the books printed elsewhere.

Perhaps it has something to do with the appearance of Kang the Conqueror in that issue of SA.

I doubt #25's sales increase is due to it being a final issue, as this has happened several times before with Dark Horse and there is still going to be a King Conan, so it isn't the end ... yet. Maybe the higher sales had to do with the book being done right, albeit at a higher price for a larger book. It was the 2nd time since the second licensing that Marvel showed they could still do Conan right if they wanted to. The other time was with last year's King-Sine SpecialMaybe that points the way to how Marvel, or anyone else, should re-boot.

Weren't there a bunch of alternate covers too? I don't think that would affect sales that much, but some. Overall I'd take it as a positive that people WILL buy the book.

Annoyed the better chart is behind the paywall. Hopefully when the numbers come in, it's back to the usual 300 or 500 for us in the great unwashed.

Sales figure for the last three months have finally been released. With Marvel now changing their distribution they've added this paragraph to their site . So I've tripled the figures to estimate the Marvel sales in the titles below "Marvel PRH is coded as a reminder that around 65% of the sales of its titles came from Penguin Random House; tripling the Marvel sales below gives a good rough estimate for overall sales." October 2021 Comic Book Sales Savage Avengers 25 $3.99 10/06/21 Marvel 25,400 Red Sonja 2 $3.99 10/06/21 Dynamite 21,955 Invincible Red Sonja 5 $3.99 10/27/21 Dynamite 18,512 Cimmerian Beyond The Black River 1 $3.99 10/06/21 Ablaze 13,901 Red Sonja Black White Red 4 $4.99 10/20/21 Dynamite 9,987 November 2021 Comic Book Sales Savage Avengers 26 $3.99 11/10/21 Marvel PRH 21,621 Invincible Red Sonja 6 $3.99 11/24/21 Dynamite 19,532 Red Sonja 3 $3.99 11/03/21 Dynamite 13,406 Cimmerian Beyond The Black River 2 $3.99 11/10/21 Ablaze 11,599 Sonjaversal 9 $3.99 11/10/21 Dynamite 8,208 December 2021 Comic Book Sales King Conan 1 $4.99 12/22/21 Marvel PRH 38,586 Savage Avengers 27 $3.99 12/15/21 Marvel PRH 21,897 Conan The Barbarian 1 Facs.
