Mahmud Asrar's cover for the 2nd printing: Sooo... it's like the White Album.

I like both Mark Brook's and Mahmud Asrar's variants, won't mind picking either one up.

Mahmud Asrar's cover wins hands down for me. Will look out for that one.

It could be a great prequel of The Black Stranger, but the Neanderthal-faced Picts aren't faithful to REH...

SKRULLS VARIANT COVER by Pepe Larraz. Note-The Skrulls are NOT slated to appear in issue #3...at least not as Skrulls, they are shape shifters you know.

Variant Covers: WHILCE PORTACIO GREG LAND Wow, that's pretty freely drawn for Greg, not bad.

Maybe the Skrulls impersonate key members of the Aquilonian court, only to discover key members of the Skrull high command are being impersonated by Serpent-Men.

It'll be interesting to see the art of GERARDO ZAFFINO in this issue. Here's a Conan commission by Zaffino: And the variant covers by Zaffino for the 1st CtB issue:

I picked up #1 today and read it. It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't horrible pastiche, either.
It's nowhere near the DH books at their peak, but it's better than Brian Wood and as good as Van Lente and Bunn.

Myself, I hope there is plenty of hacking, slashing and wenching in every issue, hopefully represented by the finest of artists with an eye for over the top action and drama.
