Gil Kane art

I'm trying to find the source of this image I found online. It is definitely related to the excellent Gil Kane & Jan Strnad one-shot comic Talos of the Wilderness Sea (DC, 1987), but the character is older than he is in the comic.

The text at the bottom - Plate 1 - suggests this is from a portfolio, but I can't find anything about a Gil Kane portfolio that might contain this image.

Any ideas?

Nice sleuthing, thanks! I'm still curious about this specific version of the image though. The coloring is very slightly different in places, so it has its own source. And the Plate 1 in the corner leads me to believe it's available someplace, and I would love to find a copy. I'll keep looking, but that's a great lead.
