Judging by that interview I agree with Terry when he said that the writer seems to have a good handle on the characters and I hope this does well.
With Kings in the Night REH set the precedent for this kind of storyline, and may well be the first writer in pop culture history to have characters link up over time in a shared universe. It's been a long and star studded road from Kings in the Night to Avengers: Endgame.

How Robert E. Howard & Marvel Characters Unite in Jim Zub’s Serpent Warwww.cbr.com/serpent-war-jim-zub-robert-e-howard-solomon-kane-dark-agnes-de-chastillon/According to Jim Zub the Serpent War version of Conan will follow the adventures of the Cimmerian directly after the events in REH's God in the Bowl: Editor Mark Basso and I talked at length about “which” Conan we'd be using - the current one in Savage Avengers or the Cimmerian from a different time. Given the way the story builds and some of the specific imagery we use, I decided to pull Conan from an earlier point in his history. Serpent War takes place right after the "God in the Bowl" story. It's a fun throwback to a Conan that's a bit more impetuous and headstrong, confident in his abilities, but also not as experienced.

Complete pass. Sounds like some of you will buy it, though. Maybe my opinion is in the minority, but I feel pretty strongly about it.
I like pastiches, but I'd cringe if I saw a story about Conan being transported to modern day New York. Although it's not modern day, this serpent story makes me cringe in that same way.

Howard himself had crossovers and time travel (Kings of the Night). The basic idea (Conan and several of Howard's other heroes thrown together to combat a big evil) is pretty cool on the face of it. Hell if I was doing a Howardverse I'd have THAT be the big climactic adventure of the setting

A lot better than Gerry Duggan's rendition of Conan in SSOC and Savage Avengers.

Nice variant. I concur with the more optimistic comments; Howard himself did a crossover not all to different than this. Execution is the key.

I think I'm more interested that non-Conan REH characters are appearing in Marvel. Did we already know that Marvel had acquired those rights? This might be testing the waters for more Howard characters. So, I think curiosity has me.

This was the first confirmation we've had that Marvel are able to use more Howard characters , Fredrik Malmberg has mentioned on Twitter that they have Kull too now.
