I dunno why Marvel can't seem to get a top artist on any of these Conan/REH related books. This will be an average mini series if we're lucky. I'll still give it a go and pick up the first issue but Marvel should try better with the other REH characters. By Crom, they need to try harder with the Conan books. I will say this till the arouchs come home.
They need to hire Benito Gallego, I doubt he costs too much. Dude draws just like Buscema.
They should get Benito Gallego on a Conan vs Silver Surfer mini series. I'd love to see Gallego reproduce this classic Silver Surfer cover with Conan instead of Thor.  |

Remember all that was promised back in June 2018 in the conference that got us all sooooo excited?
- An El Borak TV show.
- A Conan TV show.
- An Agnes of Chastillon TV show
and 12 Conan books a year!
All we have are comics

I like Agnes very much too.
She's so different from other REH creation: not only because she's a woman but because it's written in the first person (not unique but rare) and we follow her from her very first adventure while other Howardian heroes have their past shrouded in mist (Solomon, El Borak) or their (bloody) past is told in a few lines (the 2 Cormacs).

I'm in on this, but disappointed looking around and not finding any advance art other than the covers. (And great, and sometimes merely adequate, cover art is how they "get you" sometimes, right?) But realistically, I'm in on this because this is new, I think Cloonan is good writer, and the Kull Eternal art hun posted wasn't bad.

I'm not overly impressed by the art either.
I have been disappointed with the Marvel artists on the Conan/REH books over the last year. Not that I'm saying that they've been bad, but I expected at least one run with a spectacular artist.

For all of the Conan stories this past year, with the exception of the Alan Davis issues, the best I've been able to say about the art is "It's ok". |
