Guys I have a doubt. I am a Barbarian is an ERB book I want to read and Amazon India has used and a couple of new Ace edition copies, the one with the Boris Vallejo cover on sale. This novel is one of Burrough's rarest and Ace books are known to shorten the novels content, so my question is this; Is the Ace edition of I am a Barbarian legit? You mean this one?: This is the one I have.

Roy Krenkel art for Ace's The Outlaw of Torn, circa 1968: Funny thing is the only reason I have this copy is the one I bought with the Frazetta cover was missing the last page!

Announcement from Christopher Paul Carey, the best ERB pasticheur ever: The editorial in the back of Carson of Venus: Fear on Four Worlds #1 has broken the news that I’ll be scripting American Mythology’s first original Carson of Venus comic book miniseries. Working furiously on issue #2! Immensely pleased with the team I’m working with. That’s all I can say at the moment; details to follow after issue #1 has been solicited!

The cover of The Fantastic Worlds of Edgar Rice Burroughs #45 fanzine published by the ERB Society in 1999. Here's a couple of pages from the fanzine concerning the art of Fortunino Matania for The Pirates of Venus and Lost on Venus. Wasn't there a version (edited by van Hise) with a Corben Tarzan cover? If so, that kicked ass. Lost my copy in the Flood. The one I'm thinking of definitely had the Matania art you show right there.

My Dad, who taught art for 34 years, was a big fan of Foster's, especially Prince Valiant, and I used that fandom to get him to read Marvel's Conan the Barbarian back in the day. He didn't have a very high opinion of comic books in general until he got into Barry Windsor-Smith and John Buscema. Foster really was one of the greats, and this early page helps show why. Great cinematic flow, and check out the almost-tactile impact of that last panel. Thanks, Deuce.

Picking up on Deuce's previous post regarding Christopher Paul Carey's new Venus comic. Courtesy of Christopher Paul Carey, himself: I like that Kaluta cover! Chris is a good friend of mine, but all that aside he knows his Edgar Rice Burroughs. This should be a cool mini series.

He was a MASSIVE influence on the modern popular art scene. Everybody from Frazetta to Dave Sim to Gary Gianni.

As I've said several times before, Christopher Paul Carey is the best ERB pasticheur ever. I have no doubts that the story will be exciting and all-around legit.
